Should Have Been An Inventor!

I’m always working on something, I think it comes from my background of making low budget films! You have to solve problems with limited money, so here I am thinking about another idea for our TAB. If you are thinking about something like this, maybe see what happens to my idea before you do it. To get perspective of what I’m attempting, check out my video from Hunting Island, SC.

https://youtu.be/qjKhTj_h1S4

Here you will see our tent/canopy solution. Not perfect, but working for us however I keep thinking there has to be a better way to connect the two? I ordered some awning rope, that is what Sailrite is calling it and I”m going to make a “connector” using duck canvas and the awning rope. This is my reasoning.
If you look at most of the covers/visors/tents that connect with the railing, they go down pretty far on the sides, my idea is to not go down as far as I am trying to go from the TAB to the top of our tent. This is my idea of clearing it so in the even of rain, it will go past the door area and down the other side. That is my theory anyway. We are going back out this week and I am going to try and make something before we leave. I will post our next adventure and feature my success or misstep. Trust me I am on my 10th or more attempt at a “sun visor” for our boat!
Stay tuned....

FWIW, you can buy awning cord with a stiff connector already attached. If it serves your purposes, it might save quite a bit of fabrication.
I don't have a specific link, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. For search purposes, it's also called "keder cord."

    "No photos?"
I find it odd when someone doesn't provide what they believe is useful information in the Forum setting itself.  Why the need for a "teaser" post to direct someone to another site to view a video?

I agree, not everyone can open the third party hosting of the video in question.  I photo posted here would be more informative.

Not sure what he's talking about as far as an invention for connecting his tent to the T@B but here's a frame from his video... Myself, I put my awning over the top of the T@B and attach each corner to the front and rear handles so there's no leaks and plenty of room to open the door under it.

@ImNotThereYet, you could get some Keder cord, like this for your DIY awning..
Keder, Awning Rail Insert 8.5mm, White, Sew On Type - Sold by The Yard 36" Uncut Lengths

(I can't vouch for the exact size fit of this product, but posting it as an example of a product made for connecting a canopy to the Keder rail, as it appears you need.)
Or, you could sew the fabric around a tube or rope of a suitable size & material.  The product above would likely be more durable.

The link works for me. One must open the link in a new tab or window. It seems that opening in the same session is not allowed.

It may be the computer...or settings....but I have noticed that for all of the links on this forum, I have to 'right-click' the link, then choose 'open link in a new tab' from the menu.  Maybe this will work for you as well.
