I have owned 2 starcraft popups, a jayco 24' hybrid, a minnie winnie, and my tab 320s. The quality of the cushion/mattresses in all of them seemed about the same. Could never sleep without a camp mat under or a pad over. The 6" mattress in our winnie was the worst ever. Memory foam doesn't help either. A selling point of the jayco was the high quality "denver mattress co mattresses". They were terrible. As I have stated before my 2021 320 came with lots extras, including to mattress pads that cover the whole sleeping area. During the day we just lean them against seat back. Very comfortable. Unfortunately they were custom made and I can't find a name or manufacturer tag on them. I think all companies use less expensive foam to save $'s.

This is hilarious and goes to show how endemic the crappy cushion issue is in the RV world. They upgrade the foam in their Airstream with the same cushions many are using in this thread (foam factory) and their minds are blown. I’m excited to do this mod in our 400 this year:

Just a reminder that firmness and density are not the same thing and they are both critical.  Firmness is how firm the cushion will feel on Day 1.  Density is how long it will stay that way.  The problem with Tab cushions most of us have had is that they start nice but very quickly sag/soften.  That's because they're extremely low density - I did some measurements of this somewhere back in this thread and these are crappier/lower density than even the worst Chinese import sofas - no wonder they sag!  So if you're replacing, don't just choose your desired firmness, but for the love of all things holy, make sure they're also high density - aim for 2 pounds per cubic foot MINIMUM if you want them to last.

I recently contacted Nucamp about the side seat cushions in my 2022 TAB320S and they are shipping me new ones.
I contacted them as well and the woman was very polite and said that yes she could ship me more cushions but that they would be identical to the ones I already have.

Yes, the ones they sent us as replacement are very similar if not the same as the original. We do not spend a lot of time sitting in the camper and when we do, we do not sit for long. For sleeping, I find them on the low end of acceptable now, so I will likely replace the cushions with denser ones at some point in the no to distant future. I just need to locate a reputable place near Ottawa, Canada

I recently upgraded my 2 side seat cushions in our 2021 T@B 320S Boondock.  The replacement foam was from foambymail.com - their HD36 High Quality foam with a density of 2.8 lb/ft3.  I did not have a scale with me when I did the replacement but it was obvious that the original seat cushions weighed much less so I would 'guess' it was in the 1.5 - 1.8 lb/ft3 density range.  The end result is better however if I were to do it again, I would try their Lux Foam High Quality.  While its the same density as the Hd36, the description says its extremely firm.  The HD36 still compresses significantly down to the plywood underneath and I'm not a heavy person (healthy weight for a 5'-11' male) ... that was slightly dissapointing.  It does rebound much better than the old foam though without leaving slack puckers in the fabric.  The process was straight forward and their website does a great job of describing each step.  I used the 3M adhesive - I did it in March and let it sit inside the T@B and after a few days, did not notice any strong odor.  When I took the T@B out of storage yesterday, there's no odor whatsoever.
It is now 2025 - Are you still happy with your cushion upgrade and recommend LUX?

2022 T@B 320s Boondock.   I like to sit with morning coffee and also in the evening reading or watching a movie using the dinette cushions, and found them uncomfortable after a short time.  I followed Yoshi_TAB and his lead on ordering the Lux Foam-High Quality w/Dacron wrap from the Foam Factory.  I replaced just the dinette cushions.  Easy.   The difference from the original foam is quite significant, to the positive.  I'm pretty sure the $100 is going to be a good investment.  Thanks Yoshi_TAB for the detailed info.  A couple of early fall trips should verify what I believe was a good decision.

Hi, We just upgraded the dinettee cushions in our TAB.  A huge difference in sitting comfort. Here's a picture..kind of hard to see the density difference, but it's significant.  The blue is LUX HQ.

I tried the HD36 foam for a couple months, then replaced it with LUX HQ.  Much better as a seat - no bottoming out to the plywood however i’m sure weight and posterior shape can cause different results though. One word of caution - the Lux HQ is really firm as a mattress. I didn’t use the seat cushions to sleep on so i didn’t care but if tou like a soft mattress, you may need to supplement. As of the time we sold our T@b, the cushions were holding up fine - no change.

Quite a few years ago I went to a place that specializes in boat cushions, and he explained the issue to me: cushions that are firm enough to sit on aren't very comfortable (too firm) for sleeping on. One solution is to build cushions with a thinner softer layer on top of a firmer (higher density) bottom layer. The two layers are glued together. But it can be pretty expensive depending on the materials you choose.
My solution is to put an Exped Megamat over the existing (firm) cushions. I prefer the Megamat to the memory foam topper because it weights a lot less, it can be quickly rolled up into a pretty small package, and the firmness is adjustable (add or remove air).
