Pipes under sink

We recently looked at the newer tabs, ours is a 2015. I noticed under the sink the drain pipe is much shorter and therefore the cabinet is much more useful and spacious, ours drops down low and then back up using up much of the space. Has anyone changed this in their older tab, do you think its possible?

Search the forum for “hepvo valve” posts. Several folks have redone their sink drains.

    What @VictoriaP said . . . .

I considered switching to the Hepvo Valve a few years ago but didn't as I actually use the the larger (old standard) P-Trap - - - it makes a nice backstop for my cardboard box of must be handy foods while the crushable chips can be on the opposite side and nothing moves while driving down the road :)

We may someday switch to a hepvo valve as suggested by @VictoriaP, but accomplished about the same thing by rotating the p-trap to the back.

We had our 2017 CSS galley sink changed to a Hepvo, but, it did not give us the room that I expected.  Seeing @AnOldUR mod, makes me wish that we had done the same thing.  However, now we have 1 less p trap to fill with antifreeze😁.

@AnOldUR - I like your sliding cabinet drawer.  Can you tell me where you purchased it?  Did it have to be modified to fit the sloped back wall of the cabinet?  Thank you in advance!

The slide was a spontaneous BJ's purchase @Basil48192. It was a pretty easy install with no modifications. There's a little dead space in the back, but that gives the plumbing and faucet extension hose room.
