Alde " Gas Failure " I have been receiving this message for about 2 months every time I turn on the alde after a week or two of no usage. We only Boondock. After some trials and desperation so far the way past this is to hook up to the generator, turn the Alde on electric only for a couple of minutes then add the propane. At that point it lights just fine. Turn the electric setting off and shut down the generator and all is good for the next however many days. Alde cycles on and off with no issues. I have even tried turning it off all day and that night it comes on just fine but go home, turn everything off for a week or two and here we go again. "Gas Failure". Desperately looking for ideas.

@NorthernMN, you did not mention in your post what year/model T@B you have, and the specific Alde system you have, which will help others when responding, but be sure to check your Alde manual for any troubleshooting info.

Another question that may help with obtaining assistance: when you are not using a generator, how are you keeping your battery charged? Use the generator as needed? Solar?

Here are some notes I have made in the past regarding this issue:

If “gas failure” is displayed on the Alde screen, then no propane is making it to the Alde system. Make sure the gas is connected and turned on and that there is in fact propane in the tank. If this is the first time you are lighting the Alde since connecting or turning on the propane tank, then the gas might not yet have reached the Alde system as it takes a few minutes for it to flow through the regulator and to the appliances. If the gas failure code continues to appear, turn off the Alde system for a few seconds and then turn it back on. (NOTE: When first opening the propane valve, it is helpful to open it slowly and then light the stove burners to draw air out of the propane lines, which will help with lighting the Alde and refrigerator, if propane operated.)

Also, per a previous post by @Sharon_is_Sam (04-28-2023): Per nüCamp technicians: “Gas failure will either be a low battery, a bad combustion fan, low propane, or a bad circuit board. It happens too if they’re at high altitudes, usually a low battery or high altitude is the culprit.”

So, double-check your battery charge for starters.

Also, assuming you do have propane in your tank, turn it off for a couple minutes and then reopen the valve SLOWLY and draw propane into the gas lines by lighting your stove.

Finally, and possibly more important, depending on what elevation you are at, be sure your "High Altitude" mode/function (assuming you have that function available), is properly set "on" (above 3,000') or "off" (below 3,000'), because that will definitely effect the flow of propane. Before changing that setting, turn "off" the propane heating source on the panel. Once you make the change in the High Altitude setting, you can turn the propane heating source back "on" at the panel. (Again, review the owner's manual regarding that setting.)

Thank you for the thoughts. I have read those suggestions. I always turn the refrigerator on the day before (on propane) to cool down. Air in the line is not an issue. Battery (270 amp lithium) is always full. Elevation is not a concern here. I have a 2022 Tab 400 Boondock that I got in 2021 and have camped all year long since then. Much of the winter is spent in single digits and well below zero temperatures. The Alde has done a beautiful job. This problem has recently started. No changes have been made. The strangest thing is that it lights and works just fine the remainder of the trip after getting it going with generator. Help!!

@NorthernMN, maybe consider taking a look at, or replacing, the propane regulator and/or the pigtail between the propane tank and the main propane line leading to the trailer appliances? Or, possibly, the Alde solenoid valve? (I've never replaced the solenoid, but I do recall it solved a similar problem for a T@B owner in the past. You can learn more about the solenoid and where it is located by reviewing the Alde Service Manual.)
