Hi Peeps,
I have a 2017 T@B. Even though things on this trailer are starting to fail, I love this trailer as its the perfect size for me.
The purpose of this inquiry is to find out what else should I inspect and try to get ahead of on the maintenance side of things. All suggestions welcomed including buying a new trailer. lol
Thank you.
Ann
I have a 2017 T@B. Even though things on this trailer are starting to fail, I love this trailer as its the perfect size for me.
- The dreaded 3 way refrigerator is very persnickety. Got that taken care of and now I keep fuses on hand at all times when I go camping.
- The shower pan cracked. Currently being held together with Flex Glue and Flex Tape, which I highly recommend.
- This last summer, the external shower sprayer blew apart inside the trailer where the Alde was located. Thankfully the Alde was not damaged.
- A couple of months ago, I went into the T@B to retrieve a sleeping bag, and found a puddle of antifreeze in the middle of floor. Found the hose that was worn with a hole in it. Fixed that and checked the other hoses as well as refilled the reservoir.
- The AC unit works but there is no place for the condensation to drain. Haven't quite figured out how to address that. However, since I rarely use the AC, that's a problem for another time, but suggestions are welcomed.
- We winterize regularly.

Hi @bruja65, we too have a 400 born Oct 2018so it’s on my mind as well.
1. What model do you have? My overall concern is checking all the sealing and caulking on the exterior and along wheel wells where water can intrude, causing slow but significant damage.
2. Your Antifreeze Alde leak speak to potential corrosion along all the connectors. Best check them all by disassembly and then flush and refill system with fresh glycol to restore anti corrosion in the fluid.
4. Determine the health of your battery. Better options are now more affordable.
Others with more experience can add to this or make corrections
Good luck

The only thing I can suggest is, use it full-time and keep it plugged in. Most of you biggest wear and tear happens from intermittent use. Just like a car that sits, an RV will start to fall apart with little use. just keep it plugged in, heat and AC on, hot water heater on, water pump primed, etc. I know many people do it, but winterizing does a number on RV components. Hoses expand/contract/dry out, systems get air in them, which creates rust and damage, putting pressure and taking it off the plumbing lines, causes damage in short time. The other thing you can do in the winter, store in heated garage and don't winterize. I've kept my 2019/20 tab 400 going since day one, and not had one issue, no alde fluid replacement, just wash, wax, and use it full time. Even in -3 degree F temperatures, I had zero issues after I added a special residential heating system to the fresh water tank. I know I'm giving you a lot of information, but the key is to just keep things running to avoid issues.2018 Honda Ridgeline FWD

I just went through these three line items as we are heading out and I had let these maintenance items go for long enough.

@bruja65, do you have a 320 with the A/C unit mounted in a cabinet above the driver-side window?2015 T@B Max S (320)

The AC compartment has a "drain pan", and the drain pan may be cracked. The AC drain in your 2017 is toward the front of the trailer, so when you do use the AC, if the trailer isn't a tiny bit "tongue down", the condensation cannot drain from the trailer. The photo below shows the AC compartment, with the drain in the front corner of that area. The drain spout exits the trailer just in front of the driver's side tire. The "cracked drain pan" involves the area underneath the AC unit, which has been known to crack and need to be recaulked. Not too hard to get the AC out, and there are several threads about it.

As mentioned, window mounted A/C needs to have camper tilted forward slightly to drain properly. Our 2018 developed a crack by the drain tube behind the shower mirror. Removed shower mirror and used combo of flex seal and flex tape to seal. Use A/C drain cleaning pellets to keep clean and odor free. Replaced stock mirror with round porthole mirror that opens so can access drain area and periodically run long wire down drain tube to clean. Main maintenance items are caulking, ALDE and water hoses/connections, replacing ALDE fluid, keeping all tanks clean, inspect/grease wheel bearings and inspec/maintain proper tire pressure. Going over 75,000 miles this year and still doing fine. I'm sure it will serve us just fine for many more years. One of best purchases we've ever made.2018 TAB 320S
