Our third nucamp travel trailer and after four trips and 2000 miles, we're trying to get scheduled to bring it to the factory for at least six items, one being a complete roof replacement. At least nucamp is communicating with us.
I have complete confidence with nucamp and their warranty work. As said, this is our third. As for the issues, here is a short summary.
Vent/Light in shower stopped working day one.
ALDE heat in bathroom never worked. Dealership inspected our unit and said everything was working. They did admit this was the first Haven they had seen. We did not have an independent RV inspector look at our unit. Hadn't use one on the previous two nucamp trailers.
Day two had to adjust the Hot Water Flow Valve to full hot to get hot water to the shower. This isn't a biggie, had to do same with our 400.
Wrinkles in the crown on the roof (this is the area at the end of the roof as it curves downward). The wrinkles were not there when we picked the vehicle up. This repair will probably require a new roof according to nucamp.
Awning switch works intermittently.
Loud squeaking floor noise in the area of the bench seat where the batteries and solar controls are. Noise is persistent whether the stabilizers are up or down.
Standing water on the roof. Rained on a Friday, Sat no rain, packed up Sun morning and when I raised the tongue to connect to the tow, water rain off the back. Not a little bit but probably about a gallon. Not sure where the water is pooling/standing.
Inspecting the roof using some soapy water after the above and notice air escaping around the both the driver's side and passenger side of the roof a/c. Not sure if this is normal. Unit did have power and the a/c was operating. No interior water damage observed.
All that said, nucamp is communicating. We also love the Haven...it provides what we wanted when it was time to step up from our 400. It is very comfortable, easy to tow (I use an F150 5.0) and has good storage inside and I especially like the garage storage and large front tub.
There are two things we don't like...the Haven sits low...It has two V shaped brackets in the back to prevent the rear of the trailer from rubbing. I've hit those multiple times. I'm going to check with our local tire dealership and see how much larger of a tire I can mount to give us a bit more clearance. Last, the bathroom door. They should have made a pocket door. Door opens towards the exterior door and is just awkward. My wife had me remove it and we hung a beaded curtain.
A couple of observations...the stinky storage in the back will only hold a 10' hose. The trailer hitch is 1 1/2 and not the standard 2" and is only rated for 160lbs. My gut tells me the weight rating and size is because of how low the Haven sits.
As said, we like our Haven and know we are going to have many fun years traveling with it. The closest TT that we found with similar features was from Australia, was 19', and was listed at $82k.
Hard rain last night. Checked the roof and yes, standing water on the drivers' side by the solar panel and a/c. The water is being held in place by the bundle of solar panel cables. Once I raised the front high enough, the water flowed over the cables. I just ordered from Amazon a cable management kit with UV protection. Basically, they are small squares with a raised center that you can connect a flextie to. You lay the solar cables on this and secure them in place. The small gap between the cables and roof should be sufficient to let water flow under.
We went from a Tab 400 to the Haven also and are having some of the same problems as you. The light in the shower worked for several days, now does not. Also, I feel the fan could be better quality.
The Alde heat in the bathroom works, but not well.
Awning switch works most of the time, at one point it was extended and it looked like we weren’t going to be able to retract it. After a few on/off’s, it retracted.
We have scraped the guards in the rear a few times also.
Additionally, we have had a couple of water leaks under the bench seats, one just last night.
Overall, we like the trailer also. Once the issues are resolved, we’ll have better peace of mind.
Well thanks, guys - mine is due to be delivered mid march, lol. Haven't has any issues whatsoever with our 400; was hoping for the same experience. Should we think about an inspection, or are these things that would not likely be found in any case?
Pay for the inspection. I wish I had and that way the dealer could have addressed everything. None of our issues are derailing our travel and we were going to the Aug rally anyway. Nucamp just emailed and said they would like us at the factory mid May and repairs would take about a week.
Is nucamp paying for your gas and time up there? I'd be floored to spend that much and get something falling apart, especially the roof replacement issue. I've read in many RV magazines and heard by many RV inspectors, the 2021 320 is the best built and 2018-2019 400. Haven has a long way to go with major defects like yours.

No, nucamp is offering no reimbursement. If I chose to take it to the dealership where I purchased it, the drive is still four hours one way. I agree, our 2019 t@b 400 was great, but after a year of ownership, nucamp had to replace the floor. I think the adhesive they used was the fault of the floor issue. Regardless, they fixed it and we had many more trips with it. Along the way we also had to replace the front window, outside step, and framing on the bathroom door as well as the axle.
We are disappointed but we would rather visit the factory than back to the dealership.
I would suspect nucamp is watching the forum for comments/issues with the Havens and looking at ways to remedy them. At least I hope they are. My beautiful wife has a list of suggestions nucamp should consider regarding the Haven.
I should have added; we were scheduled for repairs the week following the rally in August. Had an appointment and everything, then we decided to tag on a two month trip up into Canada, then East to the Ocean, then south back home along the east coast stopping frequently. Before the rally we have two nice trips planned, one at a rally with Mandi and Kendric and another at one of our favorite parks in GA. Our schedule was free most of May and all of June/July so we decided to get the repairs done early. If something happens after the May repairs, we will already be on nucamp's schedule and can address new issues before our two month trip.
