- Good question (Sandra)! Very curious.
Sandra - I find it interesting that they published this very explanation in the book about Teardrops (a neighbor gave me a copy - can't remember the author or exact title off-hand) --- they said it stands for Take America Back (using the @ sign) but right - take back from what? I wonder where they got their information to publish it (you'd think it would have to be corroborated). Hmmmm...Sandra said:The "@ in T@B came from the Knaus-Tabbert's marketing department. It's just something to attract attention - and it really does doesn't it? It doesn't mean anything special - certainly not taking back America" - and then, taking us back from what??

Well then one of them just decided to print that without really researching the true story! I'm surprised they got away with that.Sandra said:The folks who did the teardrop book were at the same rally - or one the next year when it was discussed again. It's really just an advertising slogan - nothing more.

It becomes more true all of the time.PXLated said:Michele - I've come to believe that a lot of what I read is not factually correct or well researched. Maybe most.

Wow, Robyn, you are patient! After ten plus years of considering (but rejecting) RVs, we tripped over our first T@B while checking out A-frames at a nearby dealer. It was in our driveway within a week!robyn769 said:Hi Sandra, great history info! I thought maybe it was just a catchy way to name it and it seems that's right. Anyway, no one really ever cares what its called since its so darn cute! I've had to give tours at every campsite so far! (albeit a very short tour, haha) For sure it was love at first sight for me too. I recall spotting my first T@B on RVTRADER.com and nothing else could compare. Two years later and I'm the proud owner of a 2015 model.
I have some opinions about that, but this is probably not the place.Sandra said:...certainly not "taking back America" - and then, taking us back from what??
I work at a university in the research area and so used to things having to be cited. I should have probably picked up on the lack of a citation in that book!PXLated said:Michele - I've come to believe that a lot of what I read is not factually correct or well researched. Maybe most.
