wind and rain entering A/C vent

I have never had rain enter the A/C vent.

Like db_cooper sez, there's a tray in the bottom of the AC compartment that should collect and drain any water in there.
A cover might be a nice addition to stop the wind though. The wind seems to work its way in.

@db_cooper, the A/C Drain goes down through the bathroom wall, through the floor and drains to the ground. It does not drain into the gray water tank.

For proof, remove the seat cushion for the bench on the driver's side next to the bathroom wall. Remove the plywood seat (you'll need yo remove at least one square drivevscrew that holds the plywood in place) and you should be able to see the clear hose coming from the A/C unit and going through a hole in the floor. 

There are many discussions on the forum about the drain tube.  

Thanks for the clarification.  I thought I'd read somewhere that it went to the gray. Either way a little water coming in that vent isn't going to hurt anything.  Driven in a lot of rain here in the PNW and not had any issues.

Don't leave us hanging, how did you make such a fine looking cover?

Lexan cut to same size as vent, 1/2" foam around edge and J-bolts hooked to fins inside vent cover.
 Loosen the 2 wing nuts and turn J=bolts to remove. Water and dust proof.

I built this to keep out the cold & water. I glassed & epoxied the wood. The door slides down when the A/C is in use. Art

mick I have the cover sliding in a grove, I have magnets holding the slide in the up position and stops in the down position so the cover cannot fall out on the road. The sliding door would hit the window if it were open but I never run the A/C with the window open anyway. I put a bug screen on the inside of the box. Art
