Dale,  here is some pics of what I did with your backup light mod to my T@B, its as bright as one LED fog light. It should be plenty of light. Thanks for the great idea!

The flashlight works great until they start using it to swat at bugs. Then that's when it gets really interesting when you are trying to back into your camping spot, with the light going every which way! :o

@Pop-T@B, Yep, gave Liz 2 flashlights to use......only once! :o Looked more like a laser light show from the driver's seat! :|;)

Ya know Pop-T@B, you could back up that truck to the edge of a cliff and warn boats off the reef.. no lighthouse needed.

Can you ever have to much light? You should see the led flashlight collection I have, I have some you could almost use for airplane runway lighting =)

@Dalehelman I was looking at your backup light solution and the 7 pin access box you used for wiring.  I want to wire a wireless backup camera (that just doesn't sound right) to the back of my T@B but can't find a good place to wire into the running lights for power.  If I can get wire long enough, could I do the same thing you did with the backup lights and wire it to the connection for running lights?

I'm not even going to worry about installing backup lights. I have hard enough time backing up in broad daylight. There's no way I am going to try backing up the T@B in the dark.

:) I'm with you on that!  I am hoping a backup camera will let me see what is behind me while driving.  And it may even reduce the number of backing up attempts below 5 or 6!

If I had seen this tread before, it would have cut down in my hands on trailer wire reaserch.

Should have tought about hitting the search box.  But imagine that I did show my mod to my work partner who as a fitfh wheel trailer, and he was wondering why I would need such light.  I guess he is not in the exploring mode like wost of us are.

When I did this, I was sure that the trailer frame was grounded, so to make it perfect, I will have to run ground wire and maybe add 1 or two led light per side.

I go for the quick, cheap and easy route on this one. Actually I read about it here and it works very well! Put a flashlight or lantern on the ground on the drivers side back where you want to end up, and use it as your guide ( @ericnliz its quieter than a spouse, too!). I put a luci solar light on the ground by each shed door when we had to back it there in the dark.

I don't have the backup lights for parking. They are there so I can see the bears.
