Repainting T@B trim

I purchased a 2014 T@B Max S last year. Unfortunately, it is a model that is all gray, including the trim. I much prefer the look with the different colored trim. Does anyone have experience repainting the trim? Any advice is welcome. Thx. Bill

I just took mine off & repainted all the trim.  Its easy, but time consuming.  Mine was an older 2005 model so I'm glad that I did it.  The plastic was starting to break & crack.  I reinforced the some of the pieced with with aluminum flashing & JB Weld on the underside to stop the cracks & breaks.

When I bought my T@B in January the trim was red.  I wanted it silver for the design I was adding.  I regret that decision.  It is chipping everywhere - from rocks or even small bumps into it.  In hindsight, I would have ordered new parts from NuCamp instead.  The price would probably have been the same, as I paid $1500 to have it painted.    Looking at the pics I kind of miss the little red guy!  :D

That is good to know as I have also considered repainting the trim.  BTW I  love your design.  Is it decals?

I repainted my Red Clamshell trim myself back in 2007. Navy Blue. I only have the windows, fenders and front handle trim. I used spray paint for plastic. I pulled it all off again in 2014 and repainted. It has held up well.

Did you have issues with replacing the trim and having water enter the screw holes?  I've been warned that is an issue.

I use silicone caulk on the holes when I reinstall the trim.

I have a roll of the sticky stuff and I make sure I put fresh sticky over each hole.

Oh and just an FYI, the first time I pulled the trim off, I found a couple of "oops" holes under the trim. I filled those with silicone.

Here are my before & after pics.  (Bottom pic is the Before pic)
I went with the original yellow & repainted the grey plastic a dark regal blue.
I also reinforced/repaired the trim with aluminum sheeting & JBWeld.
I used washers with neoprene gaskets when replacing the screws,

Hello! I’m new to this site. I just bought an all white 2016 T@b. I’d love to paint some of the trim. What type of paint should I use?

    Check out Krylon brand.

I started off with Krylon, but then they changed their formula halfway through my paint job.  The new formula had the same color names, but the finish & color was off and I didnt like it so I switched to a Rustoleum color that I like.  I basically primed with Krylon & used Rustoleum as my Finish coat.
