I just replaced the crank with if I remember a 1/2” bolt. Just pop off the top cover for access. I think it was a 6” bolt. I cut off the thread. Then I drilled a small hole in it to match the crank handle. If you are not good with tools. Ask a friend or neighbor.

I would replace the thermalcoupler. It is the little thing stands in the middle of the pilot flame. They have a limited life span. They control the gas flow. (View Post)
