We have a 2017 Outback, towing with a 2014 Grand Caravan and have no problems unless we go above 65, and then a little sway, but we keep it between 60 and 65. We don't have any special towing equipment, other than a brake controller, and our Grand Caravan is rated for towing 3500 lbs.
2014 RAM C/V van, commercial version of a Dodge Grand Caravan, only 2 seats and LOTS of cargo room. 3.5 liter V-6, plenty of power, 3600 pounds of towing.

@TabberJohn, yes I also have the concern about the placement of the axle, though I'm not convinced that the 400 is any better prepared for going down rolling forest roads, something that we likely would not do anyway. As far as the stuff underneath, my understanding is that the lowest point underneath the Max is 15.5…

What year Caravan do you have ? 2011 and above is very similar to the Pacifica in many ways mechanically . Both have the exact same engine, but the Pacifica has a 9 speed trans vs the Caravans 6 speed trans . The 3.6 V-6 Dodge / Chrysler Pentastar is a very good engine .
