Keder rail?

I am a newbie and thank you for the add! I would like to have an awning made from Marti’s and she needs to know the type of keder rail I have. It’s a 2014 Pleasant Valley Teardrop and this is what the keder rail looks like. This black flexible tube strip comes out. Is it suppose to? Will I have to remove it and slide it over the awning edge then slide it all into the groove? Is there a site Or video that I can refer to for this?

Welcome julz61. The black strip is decorative and gets removed to use the keder rail.

8.5mm (or 5/16") keder cord works well--it has a flap which gets sewn onto whatever it is you ate trying to attach to the rail.

The gap is the rail is 1/4". The width of the opening (where you slide the cord in) and the inside channel is 3/8" - 7/16" at best--it's hard to get the calipers in there for an exact measurement.

The black plastic insert can be removed and discarded.  It is just a filler.  Someone posted the size of keder rope required for our rails.  I will try to locate it.
