I don’t use it either. I plug the cord into the trailer, turn it and call it good. I’ve never had any issues with water, connectivity, etc. I also leave slack in the power cord to eliminate anyone from tugging on it.

At last. An easy mod that works perfectly right away and doesn't involve an Alice's Restaurant set of glossy photos, 4 pages of sometimes contradictory directions from 6 authors, and 3 trips to home depot. THANKS!

Thank you, @ChanW & @Tampakayaker, for the great tip. Heating the yellow part of the old plug with a hair drier for a couple minutes worked great to soften it enough to exchange the rings. It works great from the very first try & will save a lot of time & frustration for us. Adding this as #85 on my list of mods, and it may be the easiest one yet, and with the highest reward:effort ratio.

Thank you all for sharing this simple but effective mod. Finally did it on my T@B. I rarely camp with shore power, but use it at home to get the refrigerator cooled down before trips. That locking ring was bear to tighten.

Anyone do this to a 2021 Tab 400? We get ours in the spring - wondering if it's worth pre-ordering the ring..
I put one on my 2021 400...no issues in putting it on the power cord, or in using it. But to be honest, I've never had an issue threading on the original locking ring either...this is just a bit easier to use.
