Leveling?

While scoping out potential camping sites, we noticed several that we can back into so that we are able set-up next to our kitchen have a slight incline. Are leveling pads the only way to level out our 320 CSS?

There are two popular levelers.  The BAL Leveler and the Anderson leveler.  Both have their own adherents.

We have a BAL leveler, but it's just easier for me to stack up a few 2x8 pieces of lumber and drive up onto them. So I've been leaving the BAL home the last few years.

I've always been intrigued by the Anderson leveler, but have never sprung for it.

Anderson and Levelmate Pro, the two together make a great combination. Takes all of 30 seconds to get it level and most of that time is spent getting out and placing the Anderson leveler under the low side. If you have an extreme slope the Anderson may not work, it can compensate about 5" maximum.

4th RV I have owned and this is by far the quickest, easiest, most accurate system I have ever used. I am set up and watching others still trying to get level.

Regardless of what you use to get it level, I can't recommend the Levelmate Pro highly enough. It takes 100% of the guesswork out!

We bought both, but sent the Anderson back. Actually have the Camco version of Bal. Our opinion is that with a trailer as light as the 320 we like being able to disconnect and manually position our T@B to the best location on the site, then level it up while stationary. No backing onto anything required.

@AnOldUR can you help me understand a little more "level it up while stationary"?

We rented an older teardrop (bed only) and were able to move it around, but of course not much leveling needed. With our soon (but not soon enough 320CS-S, would we be able to do as you do with yours?

And do most find the horizontal bubble level instrument helpful? More than one useful? Best placement? Or do you just simply see if the toilet lid and shower door stay open  and call it level?

@renesadae - the Anderson or stacking legos, or other blocks must be driven onto.  The Bal type leveler allows you to pull into or back into your site, unhook, position the TaB for best view, and then level the trailer.  The stick on bubble levels work very well.  We use 4 - one on each side near the front and 2 on the front driver side and passenger side.

Just keep a level with the trailer and use it on the floor going lengthwise and sideways. We have a 9” bubble level with magnets on one edge that we keep attached to the microwave for easy accessibility. Works OK.

BAL leveler!  I’m on my second trailer and second Bal.  I let the first go with the trailer when I sold it.  I even drove across state to get my second leveler from a FB listing since they were backordered from factory.

Andersen leveler, LevelMate Pro and Camcorder Acculevel. Acculevel is large level with ball in liquid vs bubble. Mounted on T@B so can easily see it in rear view mirror. If site is level side to side I can see it without getting out of my TV. If it’s not I tun on LevelMate Pro and it tells me how many inches I’m off I get out my Andersen leveler and watch LevelMate pro as I set it. Leveling has never been easier for me.
