Coolcat all of the sudden is blowing hot air

Caroline, in your T@DA, have you checked all the fuses?  I don’t have the CoolCat, but it seems logical it would have a circuit breaker and possibly 12V fuses.

If the 2014 CoolCat is the same as the current units it has a heat pump mode.  Have you inadvertently turned it to heat pump?

This is the 2006 T@DA. The power all the of the sudden dims and the a/c blows hot air. I am suspicious of the <converter>(changed word from inverter to converter—Verna T@B Admin).

I think this is related to a brown out you are experiencing at a campground.  Does the CoolCat eventually recover?  What EMS are you using?

I am using a progressive ems. I plugged it into my son’s power pole during the brown out and it showed everything okay. He is using a 30 amp extension with his regular cord. There is power at all outlets in the camper but the fan and lights do not work.

I believe this may point to the converter. The battery has been totally exhausted. The 110 outlets seem fine but the a/c won’t run and lights and fan don’t work.

You do need to have 12 volts for the controls for the CoolCat to work so if the battery is dead and the converter doesn't work the A/C will not work either. When plugged into shore power if the converter is working, you should have at least 13.6 volts DC when measured at the battery. If not, check all the fuses, not sure if you have a WFCO Power Distribution Center or not.

The CoolCat uses the12v system for its controls.  If that is not correct the controls cannot activate the switching valve to AC.  Unfortunately the valves normal (un-powered) position is heat pump mode.
