Outside shower hose modification

I was inspired by AnOldUR and ordered up the needed parts and did this modification this morning. Super happy with this. Now I can store stuff in that space without the hose getting caught up on anything and now I have more flexibility in use with a 12' hose.

Looks like those are from Amazon...
What about a number for the short connecting hose?
And will you close up the shower head recess opening?

My observation is that the short connecting hose on the interior is the original hose cut to length.  As for the recess opening, I’m thinking of closing it with a piece of better quality styrofoam, using epoxy to securely attach.  Closing this hole reduces the potential for rodent access.

Not sure if I was the first to add the quick disconnect to the outdoor shower location, but covering the hole where the original shower head stored was not a concern. There are no risks (insulation, rodent ...) involved in this setup than where not already present when the access door is open an hose is in use. I did put a small strip of foil tap over the hole to be safe. Bad picture, but you get the idea.

Heads up to @elbolillo, you may want to put a hose clamp on your inside connection. It is a tight fit over the barbed fitting, but hot water can soften the hose allowing the pressure to push it off.

Yeah, I had two hose clamps the day I was doing the install. One was too big. The other too small. Gonna get that fixed this week.

Picked up the pieces from freshwatersystems.com and eBay. Short connecting hose was my original hose cut to size. And I will probably just put a piece of foil tape over the opening.
