Tab400 Wetbath Sink Replacement

Hi there,
I’m wondering if anyone has done a DIY replacement of the wetbath sink in a Tab400. I have a 2018 model. There’s a 2018 forum post about this which lacks some important steps and details. I have reached out to the user who reported having done the replacement (@Tabfortwo) but I believe that their account is now inactive.

Photo from @Tabfortwo's original post

Here are instructions from original post: “I removed the old sink cut the 1.5 vent pipe to insert my drain line. Removed the 3/4 couragated hose and patched the hole. Cut a piece of plywood to fit the opening. installed a matching piece of plastic panel then in stalled sink to the wood."

I'm currently in the process of removing the old sink and surrounding fixture.

Has anyone done this? I have removed all visible screws and it is still holding fast. I'd like to remove it without destroying it in case I need to revert.

Thanks!

Tony

    That is a nice and very functional sink. Good job. I too am no plumber but there was another post about how to get rid of the corrugated drain tube, as there is a standard size trap just below where the corrugated disappears in your picture. Here is what is looks like down there:

    It is accessed behind the outdoor shower box, which I just modified as mine was leaking.

    @Kevin@7 did a sink similar to yours and his design looks just like my 2019. Your plumbing below the folding sink area is likely similar.

    The link is here for his pictures:

    He said that 2 standard 45 deg angles allowed him to connect to his new sink tailpiece and thus get rid of the small corrugated pipe. Downside is having to pull the shower box, but you might for not much more work get rid of the crappy pull out outside shower hose that leaks behind the wall at the same time.

    Good luck and happy camping!

    @qhumberd thanks for the heads up about what is below the corrugated pipe. I've noted this in case I take it apart further to remove that pipe.

    @Denny16 thank you!
