T@B 320 factory spare tire mount
Want to get spare tire out from under rear of trailer - will be traveling fire roads/Jeep trails/gravel campgrounds this year, a little extra clearance very helpful.

If you can't find the OEM cage, there other other options for accomplishing the same thing. This was a popular mod several years ago. It uses a standard (and inexpensive) spare tire carrier clamped to the jack tube. The carrier is just for stability--the weight of the tire is mostly carried by the trailer frame.

My origanal alumnium cage on my 2019 TAB 320 broke off right where the threads were cut nto the alumnium in its first month of rving. Art2019 TaB 320 S Boondock Edge0

Interesting. I can say my jack tube carrier (per my previous photo) has worked flawlessly for eight seasons. IIRC I did snug up the clamp bolts once a year or two ago.

I did the @ScottG mod using muffler clamps to secure it to the jack tube. I allow the tire to rest lightly on the frame so as to limit stress on the jack tube. I check the bolts at the start of camping season and occasionally after that.2019 Tab 320 CSS, 2019 Ranger TV, OH1

ScottG, have seen this type of mount before. Parts list, or links? Want to avoid buying/returning stuff as much as possible. nuCamp support termed it 'aftermarket' and wished me luck...0

Not for everyone, but there's always the back of the trailer. @mmcneil72 we moved ours from under the back for the same ground clearance reason as you. With a tongue spare mount we'd never be able to swing open our Jeeps back door. Our jack is an Ultimate Trailer Jack that gets removed while on the road.

Our 320 is a clam shell with the outside kitchen, so no rear racks/mounts/etc. The cook doesn't like it!1

Ours is a 2019 CSS. 2 1/4" muffler clamps worked great (without rubber or plastic padding). Our mount was nearly identical to the HaulMaster spare tire mount found at Harbor Freight. Here's the thread that inspired (guided) our mod. https://tab-rv.vanillacommunity.com/discussion/6677/spare-tire-moved-to-tongue-detail-and-pics#latest2019 Tab 320 CSS, 2019 Ranger TV, OH2

That's actually what I'm trying to do as well. My Jeep tailgate is not fully swinging open. I replaced the OEM jack with removable one, however in my boondock tab320 2022, the tongue box spare tire bracket is still in the way.
How did you relocate the tire to the back of the trailer?Tab 320s Boondock 2022 | Jeep JKU 2017

My non-boondock 320S did not have the Yakima rack on the back. I MacGyver'd a rack. At first it was just going to be for the spare tire, but since then I've used it extensively to carry the things that won't fit in the back of our two door Jeep Wrangler. @AnOldUR that looks amazing. Did you use any particular bracket for the tire?

I used the original bracket that was removed from under the back by bolting it to a plate that spans the two horizontal bars.Stockton, New Jersey

Went to Harbor Freight and got their mount and bolted it to the front tub with a wooden backing plate. Tire sits on the front so the weight is supported and the bracket just holds it in place. Easy and won't break like those original front mounts tended to. HAUL-MASTER Trailer Spare Tire Carrier
