@Ramrod: if you INSIST on using the pictured device for refilling the fresh water tank, strongly consider bying a brand-new, unused one from a reputable source.

@Tommy - my recommendation to the girls would be "The Freshette". Rigid construction, extendable "hose" so you don't water your shoes/feet, compact and easy to clean. Great for motorcycle riding with da boyz.

ok - but seriously when we fill water from 3 or 5 gallon container for dry camping we tend to spill some. What are other ways to add water without spilling? Any ideas are welcome

I managed to kludge a hose connector onto the nozzle of my 5 gal containers. With that, my regular clean water hose and the usual flexible nozzle, I can fill without any spilling. I do have to prop the tank up on a chair sitting on a table.
The Hopkins FloTool shaker siphon hose is amazing! As long as the water source is higher than the water destination, this thing quickly and easily transfers the water. I set my 5 gallon Jerry can on the Outback propane lid, put the brass end in the can, insert the plastic hose into the water inlet, shake a few times, and WaLa! Only $9 on Amazon. I use a Reliance Hyderoller. 35 bucks at walmart. Holds 8 gallon and easy to wheel it back to the campsite when full of 64 lbs of water. Then a zodi pump pumps it into the T@B. Easy peasy
I fill from a 5 gallon collapsable jug. I remove the spigot and pour away. Do I spill some, sure but it hasn't hurt the driveway yet. I do like the Camco adaptor for a hose that includes a shutoff. I think I will add that to my bucket for filling up from my potable hose at campsites. My camper is stored too far from the house to use my hose so at home I will continue to fill with my jug.

If you fill from a hose there is a plastic tube you can screw onto the hose connector.

I like this for filling my water tank:

I haven’t used this yet but carry for potential use with spigots without threads, a I find in state and federal campgrounds:
