Hershey RV Show

The largest RV show pretty much anywhere opened to the public yesterday.  I am going to take a ride up tomorrow (with T@Bpole in tow to camp the night nearby) to check it out.  It is a manufacture's show, so there is a lot to see.  Little Guy does have some space marked out of the map as well.  Anyone else going?

We had wanted to go, but left reserving a spot too late. We couldn't find anything within an hour and a half drive. That doesn't mean they don't exist, but there are only so many hours you want to spend on the internet looking for campsites.

Is Little Guy still representing T@B products?  Plus, I see it's a dealer there, showing the products.  Also, I thought the show that introduces the new products to the dealers, was in Georgia and is closed to the public.  My understanding this is were the 400 was going to debut.

No 400 , and I didn't expect one.  They did have some of the new Scottys though.

Don't know. I've been fortunate to be able to pay cash. I'm sure they wouldn't have something in writing that wasn't true.

10 year, 15 year and 20 year, used to be the normal loan times in the rv industry.  Suprisley, the rate generally goes down on the longer term.  This is how the owners of motor homes are able to buy their rv, plus they write off the interest on their loan at tax time, they are considered a second home.  

The 12 year loan, keeps this particular trailer below $150 per month, which is a marketing price point.

In the past, the loan had to be over $50,000 to write it for a 15 or 20 year loan.

Tax laws have changed a lot. Careful about the dealer's 2nd house claims and interest deduction claims they easily spout off. Some dealers even say some other things in the initial cost of the camper are deductible if you pay cash for it. Please check with your accountant or just consult a tax accountant. The Wynns (full-timers - Gone with the Wynns) have a video blog discussing tax confusion and their solutions (see YouTube). As you can imagine, full-timing it is even more confusing at tax time. Be safe, ask a professional first.

I hate to say it but the interior of the Scotty looks like the inexpensive interiors of most trailers. The colors is the only "retro" thing going for it.

I was very underwhelmed by the fit and finish of them as well.  They are really going for the new owner market here, thus the low price point as well.  Here are a few more photos.

Across from the Scottys were some T@B's and T@G's.  There was a six wide and a Rough Rider as well, but no Silver Shadows.  The orange T@G is a T@G XL, kinda a six wide T@G.  I had never seen one of these before.

Of note, I was there soon after show opening on Friday and they had already sold two of the four T@B's on Thursday.

It bugs me that the inside and outside of the Scotty's are completely different families of blue.

For those wanting to see the T@B 400, there is another big RV show this weekend where the PV guys will have two on display.  Can't remember where it is, but I got to see them under construction when I dropped the H@wk T@B off for mods over the weekend.

Could be.  I just remember they said it was a big show and it was this upcoming weekend.

Probably the Elkhart Open House.  I read somewhere that they would have "something" new there, but no specifics.  I figured it could be a 400.  It is a dealers show, the public is not invited.

Scotty Serro was originally a low cost camper, so it's not surprising that the new ones are too.

Light blue with dark wood?  Just doesn't look right. I was hoping they would use birch in them.

No. T@bs are made by Pleasant Valley (Nucamp) and Scotty's by Little Guy.
