Lagun-Mount Folding Leaf Oak Table

Since buying our 2017 T@B MaxS, we've been a bit disappointed over the small size of the articulating table. Especially when trying to serve dinner for more than two people. So. I designed and built a folding leaf table to replace the factory standard one. The folded size is 18" x 29" (the factory original is only 15" x 28") while the extended size is 25" x 29". The folded leaves are held in place with magnets and with sliding latches when extended. Even with the larger folded size, it can be fully articulated even with the rear bench back in the upright position. I built the top out of 3/4" x 6" oak boards. The attached photos illustrate the table folded, extended, and the underside latching mechanism. Hope this will be useful to those of you who desire a larger, more versatile table top.
FYI, I'll be at the Northwest T@B Rally at Lincoln Rock SP in Wenatchee, WA, May 18-21, campsite 72. Stop by to take a look, if interested.

That's really nice! Changing out the tabletop is high on my list of mods once we get our T@B MaxS. We will see you at Lincoln Rock. We're in site 68.

Curious how heavy it is compared to the stock Lagun table.

SAM, I just weighed both table tops with the mount attached. The factory original top is 10.5 lbs. and the new oak top is 17 lbs. I had previously reinforced the Lagun mount where it is attached to the rear bench by using longer mount screws and additional screws installed from the backside to better tie the laminated plywood together. Turns out while camping with our granddaughter, she inadvertently leaned too hard on the original table. This caused the mount screws to pull loose and the plywood to delaminate at the bench attachment. I feel that the extra table weight is not a problem but leaning on it in the cantilevered position is a no-no, even with the extra reinforcement. Hopefully, in the future LG will to do a better job of attaching the Lagun mount to the rear bench.
