Flying Biting Bug Spray?

Spring Finally Here,

So what is your favorite Flying Biting Bug Spray?

About 30-years ago switched from mountain/forest camping & hiking to Puget Sound boating. With near steady wind and little to prey on the biting flies and mosquitoes were few and far between.

Now am back in the woods T@Bing and soon the bugs will wake up . . . and if I'm in a crowd they see me as the tasty buffet.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now recognizes several mosquito-repelling ingredients as effective weapons in the war against insect-borne diseases. In addition to DEET, there are four other chemicals – oil of lemon eucalyptus, picaridin, IR3535, and 2-undecanone – recommended for use on both skin and clothing.

Current plan is to use REPEL or a similar non-DEET for general use but have a can of quality high DEET % on hand, Coleman 40% DEET 'Sportsman', for those extra dense bug areas.

Sound like a plan . . . of going down the wrong brands/type path ? ?
