AFFORDABLE T@B Awning

Having looked high and low for an awning that I didn't have to spend a small fortune on, I finally found this one on Amazon (of course!). While it doesn't specifically say it's for T@Bs, I noticed in the customer reviews' that many attached pictures with their review and low and behold, many of them were teardrops!!!

Once I get it up next week (traveling to Chattanooga on business... and my first trip with Gizmo!), I'll give you guys a detailed review with photos letting you know if the $100 awning is worth it!

Several TaB owners on the forum have a version of this canopy.  We have the Laputa.  It is extremely easy to assemble, light weight and comes with large suction cups to stick on the TaB.  It fits over the open galley on a CS and can be used for shade/shelter on the door side, too.  We have not used ours camping yet.  Keep us posted!

I love mine. I just set it up this morning to make sure it's ready to go for our first trip this year at the end of June. I used it many times last year. I bought it because it can be moved to any spot on the t@b. I generally use it over the galley and picnic table. It can be found on amazon by searching for "Hasika".

I ordered one as the other day camping on the beach on the Outer Banks, the wind made it almost impossible to cook. This looks like it will make a good wind break.

Well, I can say that the link I gave you provided very poor directions and had to go online after an hour of wrestling with it, to watch a video of it. After that, it wasn't a big deal. However, I noticed the pole "tabs" (the ends where the pole cede) aren't very strong as there's already a hole in one of them. :( So, I'm back on the hunt...

Do you mean the pocket where the pole sits?

We have the King canopy, so far so good.  Easy to deploy on the TV or the camper, very versatile.

There are subtle differences in the different brands.  I know the KingCamp has venting where the poles cross but some very similar looking brands do not.  I don't know if there are other differences in the construction.  Ours seems well made with some thoughtful details.

The Laputa has a mesh window for venting.  No crown vent.

Gizmo, if I were you, I would consider reinforcing those pockets.  The Hasika/Laputa is about an easy of a commercial canopy that you will find and very versatile.
