There is a safety regulator on the tank.  Here is a thread that talks about it.

You probably opened the gas tank too quickly.  Turn the tank off.   Make sure all the gas appliances are off in the trailer and then remove the gas hose from the tank to release the pressure and then reattach it.

Then slowly reopen the valve on the tank.   There is a safety feature on the new propane tanks that activates if it doesn't see enough back pressure

There is also a safety feature in the stove that requires you to hold in the valve for a bit till it senses the stove is lit
