My Costco Interstates only fit without a box, extremely snug. Still need to make a bar over the top to secure, but I could probably roll the trailer without them coming out. Very little water gets in while driving so I don't feel the need to cover the top. I'm also the only person that should be in there, so don't need to cover the terminals, but I do have a piece of corrugated abs plastic on top.
Moeller Battery Box for GC2 6V - $99 with tax/shipping from Hamilton Marine in Maine. Pricey, but very sturdy, and a good fit for our dual 6V Crown-CR220's. Box and lid corners had to be trimmed a bit, and the short panel across the back of the tub was cut and flattened down to help hold the box. The yellow caps are size medium Water Miser Battery Caps from www.flowsystemsusa.com - haven't needed to add distilled water since they were put on 4 months ago, and the lids are easy to open/close. The black rubber flap overlapping the battery box keeps rain off the battery switch. Mods, including installing the aluminum tub and electrical work, were done by a local multi-talented contractor. He added an exterior plug-in for a battery charger (blue electrical tape), and attached a solar charging chord (red/black) for easy use. Rainy day photos.
Been searching for battery boxes for ‘17 T@B 320 Mod, and am on way to Tractor Supply, which may have a box that has the right height for the golf cart batteries, which are about an inch higher than the standard automobile battery.
BUT...... I may have found a better solution at Target’s household/office bin section! Looking for your input(s):
1. The TWO Bad Boy Interstates from Costco fit beautifully on the (approx 14 inch combined width(s) and 10 inch (individual) length.
2. Their 11+ height is a bit too tall, but I would have a problem with the extended lip of the snap-on cover anyway within the nuCamp power compartment.
3. So, I plan to cut off the offending lip, and just slide it upside down over the batteries cinching with a ratchet strap, boring a hole for the connecting wires, etc.
4. My question at this point relates to VENTING. With the open side down at base of the batteries, will that be adequate, keeping in mind that the hole for the connecting wires will be near the top if the construction?
@deuce, those particular Sterilite containers only lasted about a year in an unheated, un-air conditioned storage unit. Watch for structural integrity problems after the winter, then in the heat of the summer.

You could make a simple box out of 3/8ths (8-10mm) good quality plywood, tape and seal the seams with fiberglass tape and epoxy. Then paint epoxy on the inside to seal the wood, add a lid, and Bob’s your uncle... cheers

That is an issue Victoria, I see a new 2021 (or an older 2020) aluminum TaB tub/box in your future... I got the 2021 TaB tub/box for our 400, looks grand, and hold more without being oversized looking. Look for someone selling off a newer TaB aluminum box, after upgrading to an ugly trunk. cheers

If I were going to spend that kind of money, I’d go lithium instead. And then I don’t need a box for two batteries! 😁 (New tub is 2021 only, the 2020 has the same Boondock/Outback aluminum tub as the 2019 and earlier.)
Lithium is probably the long term plan anyway, much as I’d like the somewhat cheaper solution of 2 GCs. While I actually need more tongue weight, which is a nice problem to have, that’s happening already by putting the Boondock spare up front and moving some things around. But I’m still looking and pondering.

Victoria, I missed you have a BoonDock, so you already have the original aluminum box , and it is too small to fix two AGM batteries? I thought it was larger than the plastic tub previously supplied. I like your idea of going to lithium batteries, problem solved. Good luck enjoy, and be safe. cheers

Two 6v batteries will fit fine in the original Boondock tub, but if you look at pics in this thread and others, the lids to the boxes generally will not unless you do things like remove the propane tank or replace with a smaller one. The curvature of the tub makes it difficult to fit the common, off the shelf dual battery box setups in there.
This is why you see people with 320 models doing without battery boxes, and likely a reason nüCamp moved to the new tub design.

We just ordered a camco dual 6 volt battery box..will be visiting our neighbour to reweld the propane tank..it needs to be moved a little ...after ordering the 2021 we decided to do 2 6 volts...ugh..hindsight, but since we remove our batteries for winter storage it's doable...

I went down the dual battery box road and gave up as the refitment required wasn’t worth it, as opposed to dropping the 2 batteries in and making my own hold downs.
@Denny16 Did you need to move the gas connection on the front of the T@B to get it to fit in the new 2021 tub? I really want the new tub, but the openings would require moving the battery shut off and gas connections and I don't know if that's possible? Thanks.

@Kr@cken had the new tub added to a previous model 320 like yours, versus Denny’s 400. Kr@cken, do you know if they had to move the gas or cut new holes in the tub to make it work?

Yes, good point Victoria, the batteries fit, just not the oversized marine battery boxes for the dual battery setup.
I have the new 2021 Tub/Tongue Box on our 2018 Tab 400, the original owner removed the plastic tip and parked an huge truck tool box (mounted backwards!) on the tongue, adding an odd 50 lbs to the tongue. It looked ugly, was hard to open, you had reach between the TaB and box to I latch it, and very hard to lift out a propane tank. Here is the big box that came with our TaB:

The battery switch on the. 400 is in the rear storage compartment. Te gas regulator h needs to be shifted to line up with the large gas regulator cutout in the new 2021 box. The dealer did not do this, and just routed the gas hose through the larger cutout, and shifted the box out s bit. I plan to correct this and move the regulator to fit in the large opening, and move the box closer to the TaB. cheers
