Forgot about posting these here, from my trip to Utah in late September.  Arches and Canyonlands near Moab were everything I'd read about, even while the remnants of a tropical storm streamed across the Southwest.      This is Ken's Lake Campground, (BLM) about 10 miles south of Moab.  I found the city of Moab to be packed on a Friday afternoon, and the BLM people pointed me to Ken's Lake.  Plenty of space and very quiet.  There is another section of the Campground with trees and a bit of shade.  The lake, because of the extreme drought, is just a deep puddle.

Escalante Petrified Forest State Park (Utah State Park).  Taken from the high bluff above the park.  My Tab is in the center, the red/white one was a couple from Canada who were very helpful and nice. Escalante was a bit packed in, but there were some hookups.  A huge rainstorm limited the longer hikes through the Petrified Forest, but it was a great stop.

Kodachrome Basin State Park.  By serendipity or clean living or something I found a spot two days before and it turned out to be the most spectacular in the park.  Site number 15, with Big Stoney sand pipe in the background.

Many highlights in Utah, but the drives along Ut-12 and 95 were wonderful, one of the best drives I'd never heard of.  At 9000 feet on Boulder Mountain Pass among the aspens:

Managed to get up to San Simeon State Park near Cambria, Ca this week.  Close to San Simeon, Hearst Castle, the elephant seal viewing areas, and the beautiful beaches along the coast.  This is site 237 in the Washburn section of the State Park.  All the sites on the west side of the campground have views of the ocean to the west, and great views all around of the surrounding countryside.  The main section of the campground is nice, but kind of buried behind PCH.  No hookups, has a dump station.
