Jan & I just returned from our first eight day adventure this year.
Of course we had to deal with the remnants of Cristobal the first two days as the eye passed within a few miles of us. Kind of strange for NW Illinois.
We survived and the rest of the week was wonderful.

We were there in late June! Wonderful place. We rented kayaks and paddled out to the sunken-ship breakwater.
Another hidden gem was right down by the north end of the Bridge-Tunnel: Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. The center is closed, but drive beyond it and you'll find two gigantic bunkers with 16" guns from World War II (guarding the mouth of the Chespeake).
Bighorn Mountains- 2019. Silly, but I brought my childhood Pooh Bear pals along for a journey out west from Wisconsin to a couple of free medical mIssions and some sightseeing in between. They ended up being fun company...who liked a bit of wine and whiskey😉
While waiting for our new house to be finished in Spokane we have been on the road since July 30. Pulled our T@b 400 back to Michigan, through Minnesota and the UP. Then down to Indiana. We are now heading home and spent a night just south of Wall, South Dakota, in the dispersed camping area just north of the Badlands National Park. Quite a few campers but everyone was respectful - quiet and killed the lights after sunset to enjoy the stars.
Picture is sunrise.

We rented a 2019 T@B 320-S for a trip to a rocket shoot on the Playa in the Black Rock Desert Wilderness Area in Nevada (not too far from where "Burning Man" is customarily held). We ordered our T@B in June--still not here yet. I took a picture both 'out the window' and 'out the door.' (I can see a future obsession for me! I am no photographer, but I have fun.) The third picture is from a professional who caught one of my husband's rockets going up (which we will purchase when he makes them available).
I remember my brother’s balsa wood rockets that he was always building and shooting off! This is a whole different level.
That's how my husband started out. As an adult, he moved on to bigger (and more expensive!) stuff. We drop into and out of the hobby depending on the year and the interest of our kids/grandkids. This year dropping back into the hobby is VERY expensive; it's costing him a T@B 320-S. Ha.
That is his "small" rocket. It boosted on an I-engine. Each letter of the alphabet doubles the power. Those little engines your brother used were A, AA, or likely AAA. My husband's big rocket flies on an H. We were the little guys at this particular shoot. The biggest one we saw fly this time was an M. One of our bucket list items is to go see a SpaceX launch. We'll be taking the T@B!
