Refrigerator green light

What is the little green light switch above refrigerator on the left side? I think the dealer said it was a fan to keep things cool? If so, should this always be turned on if the refrigerator is running? There is no mention of this switch in the Norcold literature.

Yes. nuCamp suggests that switch be on when the fridge is running in any mode. It is to engage the fan as your dealer mentioned and is required when running on 12V if I recall correctly.

Above the refrigerator. I understand that it runs a fan for the refrigerator but right now when pressing the switch it does not light up so I am not sure if the fan is working

What year is your Tab? And is it the three-way fridge?
The three way has a green light on the right that lights when the propane is in use.

@Dlm1979, it's possible--though not likely--that only the indicator light is malfunctioning. If you listen carefully, can you hear the fan start up when you hit the switch?

My auxiliary cooling fan is pretty obvious when it is running. However, I have an older 320 and I'm guessing from your description of the switch location you may have a 400. The fans in those may be buried a little deeper and hard to hear.

Our Refrigerator is a three way in lieu of the wardrobe the larger refrigerator was put in its place
our indicator light is located above the refrigerator to the left of the Jensen radio/DVD’s player

i do need to check if the fan turns on when the switch
is on. I will try this evening

Sharon. Can you advise where the fan is located on the Tab 400. Is it accessible? I am not sure if my switch is bad as the LED (Blue) is not working?

Is there a part number for the switch so I can purchase at my local dealership?

The fan is behind the fridge, not really accessible without removing the fridge, or you might gain access through the outside vents. I would check this with the dealer, the fan or light should not have gone out this soon. You might be able to get it fixed under warranty?

Thank You Denny16. I have owned the Tab since May 2019 I believe the warranty has expired, or I believe it has. I will check the rest vents thanks again for the suggestion

Check the warranty on the fridge itself, may be longer than one year.

Do you have a way to monitor battery output (Victron solar, volt meter, etc)? If so, unplug from shore power. Ensure all other 12V draws are off. Turn fridge on 12V. Use Victron app (or volt meter) to monitor battery status. When properly set up, toggle the switch on and off. If the battery shows a draw on the Victron or meter, the fan is cycling off and on and it's likely an issue with the light in the switch.

If you're adventurous, pull the switch out of the wall. With shore power disconnected and battery switch off, disconnect the wire leads on the switch and tie them together without the switch. Turn the battery switch back on and turn on the fridge to 12V. If the fan cycles on (watch your Victron app or the volt meter), it's likely a faulty switch. If the fan doesn't cycle on, it's likely an issue with the fan and/or fridge.

Another alternative:

@Dlm1979 - email Tech@nucamprv.com and explain that you have the 400 with the 3 way frig. Ask how to access the frig accessory fan switch.
