Inadequate Lighting

We have a 2016 320.

I've always thought the interior lighting was inadequate. To me the one light in the ceiling was too far forward for adequate lighting while sitting at the table. I've tried a couple of stick-on battery powered light over the table but they didn't seem to help. Maybe I just bought bought the wrong ones.

Has anyone tried removing the fan to gain access to the space between the ceiling and the roof to install new 12 vdc recessed lights, similar to the one ceiling light, on either side of the fan? Or has anyone found a bright stick-on light.

    You only have about 1.5-inches of space in ceiling area p, which is filled with foam between the roof and inside ceiling panels.  Their are a lot of new LED camping lights that could be hung from a bracket attached to the ceiling (use a stud finder to locate the aluminum frames in the ceiling).  Many have their own batteries and do not require wiring.  Goal Zero has a nice small, but bright hanging light, that need to be plugged into a 12VDC source.

    Have you tried the Lucci solar lights?  They give off plenty of light.

    We really like this setup. Picked up power source from the fan. If I remember it comes in soft white or bright

    And thanks @scaup for bringing up something that always kind of bugged me, but I couldn't quite identify it.  I had those solar Luci string lights to hang on the shelves, but it wasn't always enough.

    Glad to hear that it actually works. I probably should've installed it when I had the fan taken apart to install the PWM.

    I installed a light similar to one of these along the back edge of the fan frame.  It is nearly the same thickness as the frame and easily connects to the fan power line.  Plenty of light over the table and touch switch dimmable.

    We have a solar powered Luci light from tent camping and simply hang that from the fan's open/close handle.

    That is a good solution and the new ones even include some super bright clear units, that are smaller than the original Luci lights.

    @scaup @Verna Got the warm light variant delivered today. What it looks like and a before and after shot. Love it.

    Instructions said to replace the white fan surround. That showed some gaps between the wood and fan since the LED surround is clear plastic. So I put it on top the existing surround. Instructions said drill a hole for the new threaded pushbutton switch. But my package didn't come with the nut to tighten it in place; I just VHB'ed it.
