Camper Water Pressure, plumbing, heating
Hi all - what a great forum this is for Newbies.
Thinking about winterizing and service issues at same time with respect to ‘17 320-CS.
I had a leak-break in one of my water lines for the freshwater tank serviced back in July. (Should have bought a BoonDock model…….) Fix seemed to work pretty well, but when parked not quite level I have noticed an extremely slow drip will occur when hooked up to city water. (If I can convert video to low pixel photo, I will upload. But drip is in right front corner, but have seen it on right rear in another off-level location).
When I purchased, the young associate who so-called briefed me, sold me a pressure valve gauge where the red zone starts at 40 PSI, and said I shouldn’t go above it.
The hook-ups routinely seem to go to 60 PSI - especially the ones controlled by pump handles rather than a twist-wheel. I baby it to get it back down to 40 if I can, even using wire and bungees to hold the pump handle in the proper position, if it can be controlled at all.
So that is a first question: am I over-reacting to the PSI warning at 60?
Second question relates to the first: The SO (Significant Other) says that she thinks we have a lot of extra air in the line, even when the pump is on. I feel that this is true at 40, but not at 60.
If there is a small leak in the fresh water tank or line somewhere, will that directly affect our shore station/city water pressure too?

@Deuce - the fresh water tank plumbing is separate from the city water connection - where is the drip coming from when on city water?
You should absolutely be concerned with the delivered water pressure at the city connection and you should always use a pressure regulator.Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio -
Right front “corner” - right above stabilizer/strut
it “beads” on the exterior of the floor/walls junction and slow drips -
I had a movie of the drip on the other side and haven’t been able to convert it to a JPG yet. But the dampness caused by the drip looks like this even though this pic is from the “left front corner“ -
@deuce - are you using a pressure regulator? If not, you may be seeing a leak at the coupling of the city water connection just behind the city water port.Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

If you can, open the hatch behind the toilet and use your phone to see if you can see the fresh water connection. That may be the source of your leak.

And and you definitely need to get a city water connection pressure regulator, to prevent future leaks from over pressure. The regulator takes 60psi and drops it back to 40-45l psi which is within thenTaB specifications.

I think I have said regulator. NuCamp provided with my “welcome to nuCamp” package. It’s a blue sleeve. I will send a picture of it when I get back in with my camper in a day or three

The plastic regulators fail easily. Your best bet is to replace it with a brass one, they’re typically under $15. (They can fail too, but it’s a lot less common.) That would be the first thing I’d try.deuce said:I think I have said regulator. NuCamp provided with my “welcome to nuCamp” package. It’s a blue sleeve. I second the fact that the blue regulator fails quickly. Please buy the brass one. $9 or so at Walmart or use @VictoriaP ‘s link to Amazon.Verna, Columbus, IN
