Refilling toilet

Newbie question: Will the toilet refill after flushing if connected to city water only or does fresh water tank have to be full & pump on?

    It will fill from either, but you have to hold the valve open for the water to flow. It doesn't refill automatically. Also, as you are aware, you only want to add a little bit of water to the bowl.

    @cthruglass Generally, the freshwater tank can be empty and the pump turned off when you are hooked up to city water.

    You don't mention what model/year T@B you have. Perhaps you can add that to your signature file for future posts. It will help the appropriate folks answer specific questions.

    @cthruglass - a hook up to city water supplies all your water needs (including flushing) at the time, so, there is no reason to have/use water from your fresh tank.  Use your fresh water tank and pump to supply all water needs when NOT hooked up to city water.  Welcome to the TaB family!

    Hmmm. I’m hooked up to city water but only refills when pump is on. Faucets, tho, work without pump on. 
    I have a 2021 TabS Boondock.

    Maybe something is different with the toilets in 2021s (aren't these cassette toilets?) but this just doesn't jive with the standard T@B plumbing layout.

    The city water connection and the FW tank/pump combo are just two different supplies to the same distribution lines. Everything should work the same regardless of which supply you are using.

    Duh! I just figured out u need battery or shore power on to refill toilet!!

    Interesting...I'm curious as to why that is. I was under the impression that the toilet (like faucets) are purely mechanical. Which part of the toilet requires power?

    @ScottG - the 2021 320 cassette toilet has an electronic push button filler.

    Cassette toilets can also have their own fresh water/(chemical mixed in) flushing tank, so the toilet is not always plumbed to the trailer water supply.  Not sure how nüCamp set the cassette toilet up.  Some are connected to the trailer water supply.

    @Denny16 - I believe that the 320 cassettes is plumbed just like non-cassette toilets - no separate tank.
