Aldi Hot Water Tank

I have a 2021 Tab 320s

The hot water tank is filling up and then gushes out of the overflow valve and onto the ground. Nothing in the cabin. When I turn off the water source and the Aldi system, it stops. It happens on both city water and dry camp modes when I turn the pump on. Any ideas about what is causing this? Thanks

What do you mean by “the overflow valve”? Are you talking about the yellow-handled valves that release water from the Alde through hoses that exit the bottom of the trailer? Make sure those valves are closed.

Agree. Sounds like one or both of the yellow "flipper" valves is flipped in up position. Flip them down. And see if that fixes the issue.

Could be the yellow flapper, but that is in the cold water supply line to the Alde so would actually cause a leak before the Alde. It would also potentially drain the entire system (cold as well as hot).

Is it possible the hot water drain is open? Since the HW drain is after the Alde, this would seem consistent with the symptoms as described.

If the yellow Alde safety/drain valve is open, I don’t think you can fill the Alde water tank, so, I agree with Scott. Sounds like the hot water drain is open. @da_tab - can you give us a photo of your drain settings?

There are two yellow Alde relief valves - one for the hot water line and one for the cold water line.

From my understanding, on the 2019 and newer TaB400s, both are primarily pressure relief valves (the 2018 TaB400s built after Jan2018, also has the Flo tank and drain), and will drain any water in the Alde boiler and the Flo tank, one valve for each. Any water in the cold water line going to the Flo will also drain out. The TaB also has low point drains to drain the water lines, which will drain the Alde water tank and Flo tank too.

The OP has a 2021 320 S. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe there is only 1 yellow Alde Safety/Drain valve in this model.

Yes, you are correct Sharon, that is why I replied referencing the TaB400, as it sounded like a 400 with the two yellow valves referenced. If a 320, then one yellow pressure valve coming from the Alde boiler, and the other valve referenced, is just the low point drain on some 320s. Didn’t the 2021/2022 TaB320s get a different low point drain setup, with valves under the trailer?

The 2022 320 and 400 models have the low point drains exiting the frame behind the driver side wheel.

@da_tab This sounds like the issue I had and it was a problem with the (red) check-valve not the (yellow) safety-valve.
