Rear Bumper Table

I’m thinking about an addition for the rear bumper cage on our 2021 320S. Once parked, I’d like to be able to clamp a small table to the rear bumper cage (at one of the horizontal bars above the license plate - see photo). I need the table to bear the weight of a mid-size griddle unit I run off the rear propane quick connect. I’m using the exterior Laguna mount now, but I’m finding I’d like to keep that table inside for meal prep.

Has anyone tried this who could offer advice on finding clamps and table?

Will the table be supported with legs to the ground? How heavy is the griddle?

The griddle weighs around 20 lbs. I was hoping for diagonal struts back to the cage rather than legs, since distance to the ground behind the camper will be unpredictable and uneven campsite to campsite.

How solid is the cage? That is what I was wondering. I'm sure there is a way to do it, but these cages don't seem to get as much attention as the Yakima rack, for example.

You could maybe try this, but you’d have to change the clips as they’re designed to hang on a smaller diameter rod. I have the wood version and it’s very sturdy but I think the metal version would be better for your purposes.

I personally wouldn’t do this without adding some sort of legs (adjustable to accommodate the terrain) to support the weight of your grill, accessories, and food. At which point, you may as well buy a good camp grill table and not worry about attaching it to the trailer. Good luck in finding a solution that fits your needs!

As long as you are okay using the outside lagun mount this may be an option. We also like the convenience of having an outside table for cooking without moving our inside table. We purchased a Lagun table leg mount directly from Lagun USA ($224.00) and made a simple table top copy of the inside table.

On Amazon search “atv handbar clamps”. I’d use these. Design table out of Starboard/marine board.

Since you'd have to carry a table for the outside anyway, I'd just look at portable camp tables. That way you have the option of placing it anywhere around the campsite and not have to have it always on the back.
