Replacing the kitchen HepvO drain pipe with Clear Removable Bottle P-Trap (T@B 400)

About once a year I remove the HepvO kitchen sink drain pipe trap to clean the sludge that accumulates. I am thrifty with water so the drain doesn't get flushed out and sludge collects. Each time I reinstalled the HepvO I fight drain pipe leaks for a day or two. This time I replaced it with something I found on Amazon. Installation was easy and no leaks so far. I like that I can see what collects in the trap. I can remove the clear part of the trap without disassembling or removing the whole p-trap. The clear bowl unscrews.

This is really nice, and makes the install of a space saving trap like this much simpler. If you have a 320, the plumbing is a bit different, as there is a vent that goes up from where Jim's corrugated pipe run goes, so there may need to be a slight mod, there, but not very much. This is Dale Helman's original post on a Hepvo install from 2018 which shows what I mean. (I'm sure there is a corrugated T-fitting out there somewhere.)It seems to me (with only a bit of examination) that Jim's mod in this post saves even more space. Many more examples of Hepvo and sink installs at these Forum links.

I like that trap. My 2015 has a standard p-trap. I remember when Dale first wrote the Hepvo and it became popular DIY mod to gain a little more space under the cabinet. Eventually nuCamp started making Hepvos standard equipment on new builds. Coming full circle now, I guess... :-)Reminiscing concluded (for now).2015 T@B Max S (320)

Looks great. If you were getting gunk, I'd replace the corrugated pipe with smooth pipe.Rich2019 T@b 400

I didn't like the P-trap hanging down and taking up space below the sink, but I had the same concerns with using a HepvO valve that you mentioned. My solution was to swing the P-trap to the back of the cabinet where it didn't interfere with the storage basket slide I'd installed. If I had seen your solution first, I would have gone with it. Still might.

@jimcenname Thanks for sharing. Looks like a simple and easy monitor/clean space saver.
I currently have the nüCamp original sink P-Trap with no plans to replace . . .
Expect I'm one of few that use the deep P-Trap as a cabinet contents separator.'18 320 S, pitched axle, 3020HE; PNW basedTV: '17 Colorado V6 Z71 4x4, Tow Package, GM Brake Controller
