Recommendations on Spare Tire bracket for Mounting on Tongue

Hi folks,
Now that I've upgraded my tow vehicle, I want to mount the tire on the tongue.  I've seen several examples in the forum. Do you all have a specific mounting bracket you recommend?  Or ones that I should definitely avoid?

    Following this thread. I am interested in moving the spare to create more clearance underneath, and to make the spare more accessible. This looks very doable. Anyone have pictures of the spare moved up front?

    I'm torn about muddying up the sleek aesthetic of my tongue area! Maybe my priorities are skewed?

    I took the jack post mounting approach. I also thought it would look less than appealing, but having done it I kinda' like it. YMMV.

    Me_and_My_Dog - I'm sure that if you have a flat and have to crawl under the T@B, you "will" realize then that your priorities were skewed - Guaranteed - Especially if it's raining :-)

    Yes this looks cool. I agree. I have an older DM T@B with the european type of jack, so this wouldn't work. Thank you for the picture!!!!

    Yes, I'm trying to look into my crystal ball and avoid the hand to forehead scenario when I'm on the side of the road with no cell service and the big rigs screaming by and it's raining and my dog is hungry and I'm in my best shoes. Better prepare for that. Thanks!

    I saw this on the T@DA, T@B & T@G Camper Trailer Owners FB page. It seems like this spare rides kinda low.

    This is the look I'm looking for. Just like ScottG's attractive setup, but attached to the frame rather than the jack. This looks custom rather than an off-the-shelf bracket.

    Has anyone put the jack mounted tire on the Outback?  I'd like to order one, but can't get to the trailer right now.

    Some here have found them at marine supply stores. I look forwardto pics when you decide. It's on my mod wish list.

    I ordered the "Tow Tuff TTF-0345TC Universal Spare Tire Carrier with Lock" from Amazon, but I've seen several similar contraptions from different companies.

    The U-bolts are garden variety items from any hardware store. I don't recall the size, but it wasn't too hard to figure out. Though probably unnecessary, I slipped a bit of rubber casing from an electrical cable around the U-bolts so they would fit snugly and have a little more grip.

    I just toured the new 400.  They have mounted the spare tire under the propane tank.  The wheel lowers with a mechanism like you fine under a pickup truck now.  Might be enough room if you combine both drains to the sewer drain to do this on the tab.  Might be worth taking some measurements.

    Amazon link seems to be a good solution.  Too bad it's no longer available.  Any luck finding something similar or what is another way to do it?

    Would also like to see pics as I need to make the mod so spare wont scratch the ground when up/down slopes

    I think PXLated  mounted his spare similar to that one. I bought bracket like that, but decided to mount the tire behind the tongue jack. This is the bracket I bought:

    Decided to move my spare into TV (as it has the space)... probably the SAFE and EASY way.  Just trying hard and best to prevent any issue, esp, our big trip to Yellowstone late May.

      Just make sure it's strapped in good. Knew a guy that rolled his SUV and ended up in the cargo area being battered by a loose tire.

    Hi ScottG - Like your approach.  Does it interfere with the Protane box?  Would you please post a link for the mounting hardware?  Thanks.
