Sewer Hose Carrier
Hello!
We own a 2016 T@B Max S that we pull with a SUV.
One of the biggest problems we found on our T@B was a lack of storage for the sewer hose.
We solved this by installing a Valtenra 64” E-Z Hose Carrier on the front of the T@B.
The Carrier now stores a Camco – 15ft Rhino Flex Swivel Sewer Kit and Sewer Rinse Cap.
Here are some pictures of the modification.

Very nice. Did you cut the tub yourself? Some of us on the forum have installed this sewer hose holder on the passenger side frame, but yours allows easier access of the hose right at the valves.Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

Hello! To answer SAM question: yes, I cut the grey tub that holds the propane tank and battery with a Hobbico Hot Knife and finished the edge with some automotive edge trim. Thanks!

Very nice.
Some sort of sewer hose storage solution will likely be one of the first mods I explore.2016 T@b 320 CS-S - 2018 GMC Sierra - St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada -

Nice. With the standard battery size, you had plenty of room to do this. Our tub is pulled forward to allow room for our large battery.Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

Does anyone know if the EZ hose carriers are big enough in diameter to accommodate a RhinoBlaster fitting?

@Marceline, no, it won't fit. I carry a locking lid Rubbermaid container for the RhinoBlaster fitting, rubber gloves, hand cleaner, donut, etc.Verna, Columbus, IN

Do you think that it would all (incl hose) fit in a 5-gal bucket?Verna said:@Marceline, no, it won't fit. I carry a locking lid Rubbermaid container for the RhinoBlaster fitting, rubber gloves, hand cleaner, donut, etc.San Francisco Bay Area

Skyeaz. Great mod. Did you mount the tube to the trailer or to the T@B shell and did you need to move the propane tank or battery to get every thing to fit?

Yes.Marceline said:

I think this hose carrier has a slightly larger diameter than typical. But not sure it would fit the rhinoblaster.Marceline said:Does anyone know if the EZ hose carriers are big enough in diameter to accommodate a RhinoBlaster fitting?

@skyeaz, Nice job! Did you just use the end cap for a template for cutting the tub? Very clean install, and a great place to put the stinky hose holder! HANDY & out of the way!2016 T@B MAX S-aka: WolfT@B

Hello! I did this modification about a year ago and as I remember, I used the end cap measurement of the holder as a starting point and added extra to allow for the mounting feet on the end of the holder and added for a little clearance on the plastic tub so it could flex. As I recall, I think it worked out to a 5-3/4" or 6" for the diameter of the template. There was enough clearance behind the propane tank and battery but we did have to have to remove the propane hose off the regulator going down below to the main metal pipe because it was short and would be in the way of the new sewer tube. Had a new 28-1/2” propane hose made at a local hose shop. When installing the tube holder, we had to wiggle it through the sides of the plastic tub until the back end cleared the trim on the T@B.

What did you do about the wires coming from the battery shutoff. Ours seem to be too short to fit around the Valterra tube (your mod was going to be my first but with the gas line and the wiring it seems to be a much bigger project than originally considered. Thanks for,the great pics btw

Hello RuthT
Our 2016 Tab Max S did not come with the battery cutoff switch from the factory. I would guess, if there is clearance for the Valterra tube below the battery cutoff switch, maybe you could safely splice additional lengths of the same type/gauge wires to make it work? Sorry , I can't be of more help
-
Thanks @skyeaz, I think we'll use some 1/2" (maybe 3/4) nylon spacers to gain the clearance necessary between Talula and the carrier. The gas line seems to be about 1/2" OD and the wiring is less, since the carrier rests on the frame I don't have to worry about the extra load on the slightly longer screws.Talula 2017 T@B Max S towed by 2010 Forester

Hello RuthT. I placed some 1/4" neoprene rubber underneath the tube mounting feet on each end and used some caulk to seal around it. I asked the factory about placing screws where the mounting feet are located on each end of the tube and they thought it would be okay in that area but suggested using self-tapping screws no longer than 1" long. I pre-drilled very slowly and just deep enough for a pilot hole in the diamond plate and added some caulk to the mounting screws when I installed them. I can't say for sure if anything was changed or is located behind that area on your T@B where you might want to place the mounting screws. Also, in the grey plastic tongue box, I installed a couple of 3/8" zip ties around the sewer tube and the metal on the frame inside the tongue box.

Skyeaz, my tube came in & I plan on starting my project tomorrow. Did you remove the tub for trimming/installation?
-
Hello SGH0004. I was able to lay everything out and did not have to remove the tub. I did used a Hobbico Hot Knife to slowly melt/cut the tub. As always, use safety & common sense first on any project.

Thanks for the reply & advice. I normally just do stuff & ask questions later

Thanks for the sewer hose suggestion. Finished it up last night & works perfect. Just need a suggestion for sewer hose elbow storage. I have it sitting in the pvc pipe inside the gas/battery box but afraid that it will bounce out. Don't want to keep it with clean water hoses & other items
that I don't want sewer hose elbow touching. -
Ooh, I also like that Husky box you have there SGH.2016 T@b 320 CS-S - 2018 GMC Sierra - St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada

@SGH0004 I used my dremel to shave the parts that stick out shorter to make the trailer end connection fit in the tube.
The friend who taught me said she does not use any connections at the dump hole end. I've cleaned mine and stored it if ever needed, but it is SO much easier to clean the hose without it on!

@rkj__ The Husky box fits perfect. For less than $20 works perfect & holds a lot of stuff. When traveling I put a couple of ratchet straps on it to make sure the lid doesn't take a hike.

@SGH0004 Nice nice job! Looks fabulous. I'm trying to figure out why your front window looks so much different. Is that a new front window design or is that a protective panel?2015 T@B Max CS-S Silver and Black
