Fantastic fan noisey

I upgraded to the 10 speed Fantastic Fan which not only uses less power, but can be reduced to a quieter speed.

I doubt that this is true. When you put it all of the way down to the lowest speed it is super slow and almost silent. It's been 2 years since I made the switch, but I could not work with it even on low and take a conference call with the standard fan but could with the 10 speed fan.

I have found on a different forum that the control could be change, and this is what I am doing right now.  I found a complete 12 volts no set speed variable switch, that make it very slow, so slow that I have foumd a squil noise form the bearing or bushing.  So it goes from almost stop to regular full speed, and I will use the directional switch to turn it off.  Al in all, about 10,00$.

but I do not remember the name of the switch.  It is mounted with a pcb board.

 I wired in a separate on/off switch and wired in a 12 volt cooling fan from a computer, hung it with small bungee cords under the regular fan. A nice little bit of white noise and ventilation. We can use either fan, which ever one is desired.

I had a ten speed installed at the factory as an option.  At the lowest setting, you hardly know it’s running.  I bought it, mainly, because the lower speeds will still move air but use less amps than the three speed.  For long-term boondocking, I try to find every miliamp I can find.

Mine is loud.... however I can sleep through a hurricane.....

It is remarkable what a difference even the lower speeds can make by just keeping the air moving. 

@4ncar, yes, I specifically asked for the 10 speed fan, as I have one on my fifth wheel.  It was not listed as an option.

I was able to custom order to be install at the factory the FF 7350 version. Nice to know it has lot less power drain and low speed is very quiet. The fridge fan is the noisy item in the 400. I have yet to need the AC, I fully suspect that would be the loudest fan noise in the entire unit.
