Alde Hot Water Volume- TAB 400

Alde heats the water just fine but the volume is not near the 2+ gallons it is supposed to hold. Shower quickly runs out of hot water. So I tested it by opening the yellow drain valve underneath. I’d say maybe a quart drained out - if that.
Ideas why not supplying the full 2 gallons or so?
Thanks!

Are you on a connected water supply or using the fresh water tank and pump?BigGrover

A couple months ago I had a problem with plastic shavings from the fresh water tank blocking all water flow. That has been fixed (hope). Now I wonder if some shavings are partially blocking the cold water input to the Alde.2018T@B 400. Ford Explorer TV. Medina, Ohio

To completely empty the Alde tank, disconnect from the city supply, raise the tongue, open a faucet, then drain the Alde. Have you adjusted your mixer valve yet and do you use the Alde “boost” before the shower?Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

I think Sharon is right, you are not getting all the water out when you drain it. if you have hot water at the faucets or shower the tank has to be full. Try the boost before you try to adjust the valve.BigGrover

Mixer valve adjusted hot. Always use boost. I’ll try the suggested tip and drain. Thanks.2018T@B 400. Ford Explorer TV. Medina, Ohio

Was the system still full and pressurized when you attempted to drain the Alde, or had you first opened the CW and/or HW drains?I had a very similar experience once.I agree with others that if you are getting water from the hot water tap, than the Alde tank is full. The bigger problem--as discussed in the aforementioned thread--is that you want to make sure the Alde is completely drained when you winterize!2015 T@B Max S (320)
