Removing the Television?

We have a 2020 T@B 320 Boondock. We never use the television inside and were considering removing it and repurposing that space behind it. I tried a search and didn’t find any mods discussed. Just wondering if anyone has removed the inside television? If so what did you do with that space?

Your talkin' my language, Kr@cken--check out this discussion. The shelf is great for small items that never seem to have a good place to land. I've since improved it by adding a lower rail with sliding hooks from which to hangs hats, keys, etc.I think a few other owners have done something similar, so maybe they will weigh in with more ideas.2015 T@B Max S (320)

Thank you. This is a great idea. I have no woodworking skills but may have found a local cabinet maker willing to do small jobs. I’ll send the photos to him.Kr@cken

I pulled mine, packed it away along with the curved side cushions and lagun table I also don’t use, and simply covered the area with a wrapped canvas print. Not helpful from a storage perspective, obviously, but gave me more headroom in that seat and a little more personality in my trailer decor.2019 320s BD Lite, white with blue (“Haven”)

That’s a nice fan @ScottG.Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

Ha. Thanks, Sharon. That was the air conditioner cooling fan that had to be removed to install the upper cabinet. I made a face plate out of wood and mounted the whole assembly on a leftover GPS ball-mount bolted to the valance so it can be positioned in any direction. It's still controlled by the wall switch on the right.
I did this on a lark but that little computer fan really does make quite a breeze, and it's super convenient when you need to pop inside on a hot day. It does sound a little bit like a dentist drill but I guess you can't have it all... :-)2015 T@B Max S (320)

Reuse and recycle! I have a couple of small 12v fans and I am always surprised by the amount of air that they move!Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

ScottG, do you have photos or suggestions for removing the AC unit? Not sure I need a door on a cupboard there, but would like to see how you finished off the interior; and how you secured the outside wall vent to preclude leaks. We've never turned on the AC in 6 years of T@B travels.2018 T@B CS-S; pulled by a 2010 Toyota Tacoma v6

@RedDoorGals, as far as removing the Danby AC, the below video and discussion thread will help with that and show you what the compartment looks like.

@ScottG will likely help you with the other parts of your question, but the cover described in the video and Forum discussion (above) seals the vent well, but it is too expensive for a permanent removal of the vent. But, if it helps, I closed off my two refrigerator vents (by the side entry door) using thin plexiglass. You could seal around the edges with clear caulking, but you could use a good adhesive for a permanent seal. However, you would still need to add some sort of external cover (metal? plastic?) over that for aesthetics/weather protection and secure it in place, possibly with screws. I don't have any specific recommendation for accomplishing that. The following discussion thread includes info that I posted about the plexiglass covers when I replaced my refrigerator.

I seem to be a minority here, but I(we) use the both the TV and the microwave alot. Any body else?

We have a CSS with 2 TVs. We use the inside TV frequently (local TV/DVDs/Streaming) just before sleep. The galley TV is used infrequently. An old analog "Rabbit-ear" antenna with a coax connector is our antenna. We stream using a Google Chromecast and our phone as a WiFi hotspot.2019 Tab 320 CSS, 2019 Ranger TV, OH

320s bd. I fixed up an antenna, we watch news at night and in morning with coffee. I also bring a couple of movies for rainy evenings.

I did the same and made a small shelf and installed a volt meter and usb charging port.
