    That sounds about right. you got to figure this will be 3000 lbs or better loaded.

    @jkjenn I asked about that larger tub for the propane and battery when they posted the photo recently on their FB page of the first one sold.  Here is the response that I received back..."
    nüCamp RV This is the production model, though there will still be a few tweaks to future campers. However, the changes made will not be evident, specifically in regards to the propane/battery box which will not change."  I must admit that was a little disappointing.  It makes me wonder about the larger battery as well.

    $37,000.00...........Wowser! I didn't pay that for my MAX S and either TV combined! Once you get the 400 loaded, [water, propane, bedding, clothes, food, etc.] you could easily hit the 3,000 plus range. Not to mention the additional tongue weight. This would put a lot of vehicles folks are currently using out of the safe to use range for sure. Not to mention, have you priced new vehicles that would accommodate the added weight, and towing capabilities required? I'm sure there is a market for this trailer for some, and all the upgrades are nice, but that's pretty spendy, IMHO.

    There's also a substantial increase in headroom within the main cabin in all directions. 
    The unit looks kinda big to me; too big for my tastes.
    That plus the TV towing capacity requirement means this model is for a different group of T@bbers.
    Next we'll need to have two different T@B forums. B) Mini-Me and Super-Size-Me.

    I purchased my Sorento with its 5000lbs tow capacity and I know lots of  you Tab'rs have over provisioned for tow capacity and could easily tow the Tab 400....but at over 30K for a smallish Tab trailer..would only appeal to tall Tab lovers with a healthy pocket book...in my humble opinion.

    I have a feeling that price is a bit inflated for the early adopters.  There is no actual MSRP on these things, so I think the price will come down.

    Datsun 240z morphed into the bulbous 280z. When does a teardrop cease being a teardrop? Not being derogitory, but making a winning concept larger and more option enhanced may detract from it's original attractiveness. I can already hear the T@G folks saying the same about us T@Bers!

    Frank - Asked the same thing awhile back. So, what is the defining factor? If they do an even bigger one with dual axels and the height of a big rig pusher is it still a teardrop just because of the shape?

    PXL -  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Conversely "I know pornograhy when I see it."  Someone at Coyote Howls said another teardrop group excluded T@Bs because they we're not "pure" teardrops. Maybe this could be said of the 400.  Not me. I wish all owners of the 400 countless days and nights of camping bliss. We are all, at heart, joyous trailer trash.

    Considering the T@G was actually a result of the T@B, a downsizing, I think nüCamp is going the right direction by having something for everyone.  I know I have talked to a lot of T@B 320 owners that are very interested in the little extra space a 400 offers.

    I think the 400 is a direct stab at the Airstream Basecamp and Sport markets, comparable in size, excellent quality, uniqueness, and with some real innovations and a price point that can very well compete in that market (the Basecamp is in the 42-45K range).

    The 400 is also something I see a couple being able to full time in, where the 320 would be much more difficult for that.

    In a few years, when we upgrade our TV, we may well be looking into the 400 because of some of the added space and features it offers.

    For those with the extra $$ and tow capacity and need for a taller tiny trailer, I think I'd still pick the 400 over a small airstream because of the 400's seemingly more balanced style and simplicity.

    I've heard from other airstream owners that even the small Bambi axles are nearly overloaded off the assembly line (as with the newer larger airstreams) - mostly because of high end countertops, heavier amenities and other customer demands. This is anecdotal, mind you, and I don't want to dis any airstream or potential airstream owners. The axle weight thing scares me - not the quality of the airstreams. I've the same about those humongous class A land yachts - slightly below their axle max before people put their stuff in them.

    Didn't mean the sticker shock.  Got a quote at another dealer in Missouri for $28,000.  The factory has stated in the mid to upper $20,000 range.  It just points that the dealer is free to set his price.  Still waiting to see what I can get from my Dealer. And , Tom's did say that it was a loaded 400.  Don't know what options that included.  There are things that I could do without. (outside shower, chalk board inside, etc)

    What is the origin for the 320 and 400 designations?
    Do the numbers refer to interior space so a 400 has 80 more ??? than a 320?

    Tabberjohn, I'm not positive, but I do know that the 320 and 400 designations show up in European models, and I think that's why they are used in the US. I could be wrong, it's just an observation on my part.

    I think it is the metric length measurement of the shell or body of the trailer.

    My wife and I really like what we've seen so far regarding the 400, especially the much larger bathroom, extra sleeping space, and headroom. So we reached out to a local Tab dealer for a quote. The price came back at about $31K, and they're taking pre-orders now.

    That seems like a lot, even for a trailer as nice as the 400.

    That price puts the 400 in roughly the same range as a new Lance 1575 or used Airstream Bambi 16. It's a tough choice since our TV can tow any of those. Both of those alternatives would have more space for my wife and I and our 10yo son.

    My question for the group is, what would you do in a similar position? Are there compelling reasons to go for a Tab 400 over the Lance or Airstream? Thanks for any input.

    Both are cute and eye catching. Both have very active and helpful forums... my selling point on a T@B is that there is no aluminum to polish and the airstreams are reported (I haven't verified) to be heavier than the T@Bs for the amenities (better gas mileage if that's an issue for you). Just my couple of pennies opinion. Go with what speaks to you (I know easier said.... pun intended).

    Gulfarea - for those times your wheel chocks fail in the middle of the night and you find the trailer carrening down a hill?  Reduced road noise would help you better hear the screaming.

    You have to also bear in mind that the further away from Sugarcreek that the dealer is, generally, the price gets higher. This is how it has trended for the standard T@bs. I would be interested in what Hadocey quotes as they are probably the closest to the factory. I saw a truck with several T@bs on its way away from Sugarcreek on Saturday on my way to the factory and saw a new T@b getting ready to pull out of Hadocey on Saturday. Unseasonably warm weather ought to kick RV sales into high gear, in the east.

    I've been researching the last couple of days and, considering the units this is competing with in the marketplace, it's priced very well. Essentially the same size (with more features, I feel) than the Airstream Bambi Sport 16j, the Airstream Base Camp and the Casita. The Casita is closest to price depending on options, but the Airstreams are a good 10K more than the 400; and the 400 looks much better and has more features. I'm not in the market at the moment cuz I still love my 320, but in a couple of years, I will be. Funny, when I saw the Base Camp and Bambi (before the 400), I thought "Yeah! That's sweet!". Last night I watched You Tube videos of all three and thought, "Not so much". The 400 is a superior camper.

    I actually decided to take a ride in the Tab, in South Carolina where it's legal, "just to see...", while my DW drove.
    Scary! No shocks. Very insecure and completely helpless feeling.... 
    I quickly realized the lack of a "protective cage" of any kind, and no seatbelts?!?
    Got about a half mile before my yowling got her to pull over.
    Recommended.
