Nice job. I also mount the 8 gallon action packers on the platform of my 2021 400. They work great. I bought all the hardware to bolt them down then ended up just using a ratchet strap as I realized I like to remove the often for loading and moving them around camp.
I wonder if they can make a lid that attaches on either side, but can be lifted off entirely (similar to my cheapie Rubbermaid Action-Packer)? Another alternative to avoid those T@B handles might be to indent the outside top slightly so it clears the handles. I'm sure that would really increase the cost. Damn, they sure…
I made a custom tool from 3/4" schedule 40 PVC. The business end fits around the handles of the black and gray tank valves and can both pull to open and push to close. The end of the handle was cut to fit in the action packer that holds our sewer hose. With any luck I'll never have to crawl under the trailer again.
how do you secure things like action packer plastic bins inside the camper. I would think they would slide or roll around on the floor while underway, especially if you are on a windy or bumpy dirt road? I am reluctant to keep kitchen stuff stored inside the cabinets because I spend a lot of time on bumpy dirt roads. I…
As useful as the platform would be, I can see how things easily start to get crowded down there. Truthfully, it might be easier for me to pick up a couple of Action Packer containers and strap them to the roof rack of my Jeep before adding any additional obstacles to my tongue. I recently moved the spare to my tongue and…
I'm hoping to mount my new Noco Battery Box on the Outback platform. When I mounted Action Packers there, I cut two holes in the bottom of the Action Packers, then used a large bolt with large fender washers so I could use the holes already in the Outback platform (no new holes to drill). The Noco battery box has four…
I decided to have the factory add the diamond plate tub and platform while they were fixing my delam issue (I will cover in another thread.) I really liked the accent color plastic cover, but I needed to deal with storage. I was carrying my spare in my TV because it would not fit on the tongue. It was either modify the T@b…
@ZippyA No handy pics, unfortunately. I have the Boondock platform, so on either side of the propane tub, I bolted down one of these: https://www.rei.com/product/634286/rubbermaid-action-packer-8-gal ...through the platform holes, using bolts, nuts, and large fender washers. I added foam weatherstripping to the groove on…
Just bought this scale on Amazon. Very well made and seems to be accurate. Quick and easy to use. I was a little surprised that my Outback tongue weight was 260 lbs. (A friend's non-outback 320 was only 180 lbs. Both of us have two 6V batteries in the propane tub). I do have a 2000W inverter installed in front of the tub…
Those are darling! And I like your colorful shower door film. I find the cushions stay up fine on their own...at least, they did three previous RV’s that didn’t have or need velcro. I also packed away the curved cushions along with everything else that I know I’ll never use, since I sleep wheel to wheel and leave the bed…
