Re: Norcold Refrigerator Exhaust Fan Kit
While chasing a gas leak today on my 2015 t@b S max, I realized that this fan was not installed. I’ve heard a fan running at times but think it is the one I found just above the gas heating assembly…. I vaguely remember the free kit but since I heard a fan at the time, I assumed that I already had the mod…I’ve gleaned from this thread that the upgrade kit mounts a fan just under the fridge cabinet vent found at the right side of the door. Did I get this right?
f150 gate open w/long ball mount
It works. 2023 f150 Powerboost. 2023 Tab 400 BD. Do need to rotate jack handle just a smidge when opening or closing. Might trim it. Otherwise, I am a happy camper!

P.S. Before starting a religious argument about tounge weight, please watch this very informative video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OFZ0sLW9v8

Re: f150 gate open w/long ball mount
I just used a couple of stainless screw lock carabiners to extend safety chains.B0atguy said:Thanks for this idea . We have about the same set-up , 2023 Ford F150 Sport 3.5 EB , and a 2024 T@B 400 . Was getting tired of not being able to open the tail gate when hooked up to the trailer. This extended receiver fixed that problem . Ordered the exact same one from amazon , along with the 2" ball and also a hitch / receiver anti rattle clamp. Works great. Just have to figure out if I am going to modify the jack handle so it doest touch at all , or possibly may just order an electric hitch and give it a try .
Also , what did you do for the safety chain length ? Mine are a bit too short to reach the hitch now after the extended receiver .
This will also give just a little extra room to prevent the truck from contacting our Sea Biscuit extra tongue boxes (like yours) . Already slightly "jack knifed" into a box when turning sharply !

Re: First impressions: T@B 400 Boondock and Arvika bike carrier

So, as requested, a photo of the rack on the camper, with bikes on.
Tongue weight loaded like that is 500lbs
Re: SL Rated Tires for Towing
Tacomas don't require any higher load rating than SL and if that's what the truck came with it is sufficient for towing from a load perspective. However to achieve good ride quality SL tires are more flexible (engineers call it "compliant") compared to LT tires. A heavy trailer that tries to move the tow vehicle around can make the rear of the truck feel squishy. Given the size and the weight of the T@bs that's probably not an issue, but a friend of mine with a much larger dual axle trailer changed tires twice to get rid of that feeling.
On my Jeeps I have C rated LT tires which are sturdier off-road and do well when towing while not as heavy and rough riding as E rated tires.

Re: Installed the KickAss brand awning on my 2023 320s Boondock
I agree, most Keder rail awnings take too much time to set up, however I found the small awnings don't give enough shade or protection in the rain so I went with a Moonshade XL. Sits just over the top so there's no chance of a leak on the door side and just ties to the front and rear handles. The door can stay open. Quick easy set up and a lot of shade/rain protection 9'x12'.

Re: Fridge Additional Insulation 2021 TAB 320ss? And other ideas for improving fridge efficiency...
I think that you've hit on something interesting here. I attached some reflectix to the front of my clamshell fridge so that the fridge doesn't absorb heat through the black front. I hadn't considered that so much heat could be entering from the trailer sidewall. What happens to your readings if you have an awning on the side of the trailer or something else to block the sun from hitting the sidewall?
Re: Remove television and Jensen stereo.
I just unplugged the TV and leave it in place, it's not in our way. I installed a on/off switch just below the Jensen stereo in the closet ceiling so it is off when I'm not using it which is seldom.
Re: Failed water pump after about 400 days of service
I'm curious. Did you disassemble the old one? There are a couple of small pressure ports in there (in addition to the main diaphragm) that can be replaced. Perhaps they, not the diaphragm, were the issue. On my pump, nearly every spring I have to take it apart and stab away at one of them to get it working.

Re: Remove television and Jensen stereo.
I know all about being attached to a great amp. I've built several tube amplifiers, this last year I designed and built a 300B based single-ended amp. It sounds phenomenal. But I think it's better enjoyed at home. If I had that much luxury on the road, I'd have no reason to come back.
