    First of two night at Claytor Lake Start Park in VA. on a slow path to Nashville. Campsites are kind of close, but doesn't really matter since there are very few campers here. Next one's are about four sites away. Lookng forward to hiking and kayaking.

    @Lawyerboy ... Nice canopy! Had ours a long time and still love it. We're on our last of three nights at Cove Lake State Park in TN. Cramped sites, but not too bad during the week. Did not get to put our kayak in the lake, but some really nice hiking in the area.

    We have been looking for a Tennessee camping option at this time.  I do not care for the rv park cramped quarters and have had great luck with state parks.  Does the site you have her have power and water?  The canopy is a must.  13 x 13 Coleman from Costco.

    @Lawyerboy … We didn’t expect it, but the sites did have both electric and water. Nice clean bathhouse too. Just be sure to have a water pressure regulator. Two campers near me without had problems. Here’s what I mean by cramped, but most of the big rigs pulled out on Sunday morning. The pictures from my previous post are from after they left.

    Thank you.  We have a water regulator.  And I see the walls of campers you faced.  I would prefer seeing the park, not them.

    @Lawyerboy ... Guessing that greed is the motivation behind packing them in so tight, but since it's a state facility you wouldn't think that would be the case. There was less than 10 feet separating the gravel pads. When I turned my T@B sideways for a better view of the lake my tongue was almost in the other site. Don't take my remarks as too negative. We had a great stay. When that big motor-home left, two very nice ladies in a small trailer took the site. They were from our area, so we had a lot to talk about. Small world!

    Assateague Island State Park in Maryland back in September.  Highly recommend this spot for everyone.  Just bring copious amounts of bug spray for when the wind turns offshore and the bitey flies swarm.

    The cover over our door is a $20 Ikea half umbrella. Mounted it with a couple of eye bolts that pass through the side wall with plates inside and out. We're on the lookout for something a little bigger, but it works great.
