So what are the chances, 4 t@bbers who did not coordinate , arrive in Glacier NPSt Mary's Campground,in the same campground loop, 3 in adjacent sites, one a couple sites away. First pic in the 320 are Kathy,Jay and Kirsten from Indiana, in 400 Boondock are Mark and Marilyn from Minnesota, and in the white T@b 400 are Pam and John from North Dakota. In the next 400 are Elizabeth and Bernie traveling in a 400 out of Maryland. It's a mini uCamp out here in Glacier NP!P
All of you should have joined forces and bought a mega lottery ticket! The odds were greater for you to be winners than to have the accidental meet up!
Grayson Highlands State Park in SW Virginia is a winner & it's nice & cool at 5000 ft. Site 26 in the Hickory Ridge Campground..
Plus, there are wild ponies in the hiking areas. These were near the horse stables parking area to left of the Rhodadendron Trailhead..
And lots of great views.. This one from the turnout on the way up to the park (which is a long series of sharp switchbacks, so I kept an eye on engine temp)..
At the picnic area overlook (looking east) near visitors center.. (one of the best we've seen - not like your typical gift shop, but more like a nice museum of history, wildlife & artifacts)
The view below was from the Rhodadendron Trail, looking south towards the NC mountains (TN would be seen to the west)..
Going to return some day.
PS: One from atop a rock outcropping on the Twin Pinnacles trail (the highest elevations in the park) just 100 yards past Little Pinnacle & looking NW towards Mt Rogers..
Jane standing on Little Pinnacle overlook - the second highest peak in VA @ 5089 ft (after nearby Mt Rogers)..
And a panorama at Little Pinnacle, just a 15 minute easy hike from behind the visitors center..
And these next two shots were on the hike from the visitors center to Little Pinnacle, through some beautiful woods .
We think Grayson Highlands has the best views of all the Virginia parks we've ever been to. Thank you, T@B!

@Jackie_Dave, we were in site S26, but we thought S23 across the street might be better, being on the outside of the loop looking down the mountain & being a drive through. Ours was back-in uphill.

@BrianZ - We have reserved site S25. So I feel good about it's in the general area you were talking about. We would change but they are booked solid for that weekend. I believe ours also is a back-in. We will post pictures.

After Grayson Highlands, we drove about 90 minutes NW to Hungry Mother State Park, near Marion, VA, and got this delightful spot (B19) in the aptly named Creekside Campground..
We had nice morning sun (above) with trees for the hammock close to the creek, and visits from ducks. In the evening, bambi & mom strolled through on the other side of the creek..
And there's a nice lake with beach & boat rentals..
We enjoyed biking around the lake on paved & gravel paths for hiking & biking.
A larger second campground just before the lake is more like a KOA with larger capacity, so we were happy to get a prime spot by the creek at the smaller "Creekside" campground at the far end of the lake.

@Jackie_Dave, your #25 was directly across the street from us and was occupied by a large RV, so I'm pretty sure it was also a pull-thru. Those sites on the outside of the loop are a bit more limited in lateral space, but you have an easy pull thru with a nice view out the door side with nobody there but woods going down the mountain. Be sure to take the trail to the left behind the visitors center to Little Pinnacle overlook - it's a must-see view.

@Jackie_Dave, to give you an idea, here's a shot I took of #23 showing the first half of the pull-through; 25 is just like it - next one up the hill on same side of road..
It's probably not as steep as it looks, but possible you might need to elevate your wheels a bit.

On the third leg of our last camping trip, we stayed at Smith Mountain Lake State Park, which was our 13th Virginia state park (10 more to go!).
We've collected stickers from 15 parks where we've camped in our first two years of T@B ownership, including two national parks on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Julian Price in NC and Peaks of Otter near Bedford, VA, two of our favorites (next to Grayson Highlands) for their natural beauty & views (no hookups at the National Parks).
Smith Mtn is Virginia's largest lake, popular with boaters & fishermen (a record 50-lb striped bass was caught here). This view is from the very nice pavillion (with snackbar & bathhouse) overlooking the beach. Water is very clean.
Some views from a lakeside hiking trail..
We're already looking at planning another "3fer" trip to three more state parks where we've never camped before. Again, thank you, T@B, for expanding our horizons.

September beach trip - Henderson State Park, Destin, FL. Beautiful beaches - great park right in the center of Destin but the park is like an island - you only hear the town from the campsite, you don't see it! Sunny weather and temps in the high 90's but that was what we wanted for a beach trip. Here's Big Bird!
Acadia Maine for a week . This was our first "big" trip with our new T@B . 1600 miles roundtrip , and mountains all the way, both ways ! ! Averaged 16mpg with our 3.6 Dodge Caravan . Hoping for better , but it was a pretty grueling the whole way. No problems with the T@B or the TV. Alde Heat/hot water worked perfect (in the 40's overnight) . Stayed at Mount Desert Campground right on the island , next to Acadia NP . Very convenient campground to all points on the island , Bar Harbor and Acadia NP . We had water and 20amp A/C . Campground caters to small RV's (under 20') and tents. Lots of bath houses , some better than others , and a building with internet and coffee/pastries in the morning. Lots of R-Pods, pop-ups and tents . There were about 5-6 NuCamps when we were there . A few T@G's, 2 - 320's (including ours), and a 400 . Even saw an Alto . Met the people with the 400 from Canada , and we had a nice chat .
Also talked to a couple who rented a small motorhome next to us and hated it , They were so impressed with out little T@B, they were going to start looking to purchase one when as soon as they got home ! Interestingly (and not surprising) , they looked at a few other campers during there stay , and could not believe the quality of the nuCamp compared to all the others (R-Pod , they were talking about you !) They were sold .
Anyway, here is our campsite picture !
