@MuttonChops, what @ericnliz said, adding that I prefer the lower loop on the river. It’s a half hour from home, fifteen minutes from work, and yes I’ve commuted a few times.

@jkjenn, sounds like you gave your A/C a work out. I like Rocky’s bandana - very stylish. Soon we travel to southern Ohio and will stay at Scioto Trails State Park campground. Looks like we will put our A/C to good use, too. Having a very humid summer, too!

Yeah, I would camp more around home if the weather were not so beastly. Counting down the days until my next trip to the land of dry air.

@maddmike. Where are you exactly on Ocracoke Island? In a campground or boondocking? I'm in striking distance of Ocracoke and may be adding it to my list. Beautiful photos. Magnificent skies!
Not our 'set-up' precisely, but en route to Berry Hill camp site in Gros Morne National Park, western Newfoundland, and then from the peak of Gros Morne, Newfoundland's second highest mountain.

Ocracoke is favorite spot in NC so far. We camp at Ocracoke Campground which is a state park. There are bathrooms but there is no hookups with a water and dump station across the road. There are always plenty of spots and you can be away from everyone if you like but you will be further from the beach.
Beach is always empty like that and there are minimal pesky humans but plenty of mosquitoes to go around.
@scotty0424 I had it made. http://martisawnings.com/vintage-trailer-awnings.html Only problem was the keder rail insert was the wrong size when delivered. She then sent me different sizes to try, and I sent it back to be redone. I am very happy with the quality, and the service. The wife didn't like the visor look, she wanted the cute, vintage look. It doesn't cover a whole lot, but does keep the entry dry, and shades the entry and side window. I would get the same thing again!
My first trip—2018 320s! Morro Bay California. I brought it home, went down to the neighborhood school parking lot and spent an hour backing it into various parking spaces, loaded up my surfboards, and off I went. It’s going to be nice on those cold winter mornings.
@Dcarlton, where in Morro Bay is that? We go to Morro Bay quite often and stay at the state park when we camp. I don't remember seeing any place like your picture.

It’s the Morro Strand State Park just north of town between Morro and Cayucos. I’m taking the picture from up on the road above the campground in front of the houses. My favorite campground and one of my favorite surf spots.
Bear Creek Lake State Park campground, near Cumberland, VA..
First time making use of new tongue tires & the T@B handles to reposition perpendicular to the TV (for facing door into the camp site with a view of the forest). Portable drill-operated scissor jacks made it easy to level & place 2x8 blocks under wheels.
Bear Creak Lake & beach near the campground.
While camping, we sometimes make side trips to other interesting places nearby, and since we carry bikes inside van, so drove 15 miles south to ride the High Bridge State Park Trail, formerly an historic railroad bed. We rode five miles of the trail, from Farmville, VA, east to the High Bridge over the Appomattox River valley.
At 2500 ft long, it's one of the longest recreational bridges in the country.
125 feet above the Appomattox River, with great views above the trees.
Enjoyed our view of the forest, and survived one rainy afternoon with the tent, and the visor worked great in the rain.

We took our first trip to Delaware Seashore state park. We stay on the old side and it' s nice to hear the live music while we make dinner. The music stops right at 10pm so you don't have to worry about getting to sleep. It was great being able to camp in the non-hook up sites and keep the battery charged with the solar panels. And of course we had no less than 6 people come ask to take pictures and look around. It surprises me that our tab gets more attention than the 40 ft land yachts.
We are heading to Shenandoah state park in October... I'd like to sneak away before then and get an overnight trip in.
It's great seeing all the MD, VA camping spots! I'm making my list of travel spots for the fall/winter.

The CG was connected to a working farm and way out in PA farm and coal country. The owners were super friendly and the sites very large.
Very thankful for a/c and a wetbath as the weather was grossly humid.
And last, the king was in his castle...and happy to not be left behind.

Enjoyed our nature hikes too..
This mushroom was about 5-6" in diameter, surrounded by running cedar.
Glad the sun was lighting this up so I didn't walk into it, since it was at face level! I carried a stick to wave in front of me on our hikes.
