@Jeanne, Go for it! I did that 2 weeks ago (no antifreeze involved though), just de-winterized, put water in & ......down to 29* the next day. Drained, re-checked & everything was fine, WHEW! Eric, we used to put foil in the cigarette lighter end that held the fuse until it melted.
Everyone... what.ever.you.do.... DON'T use "ratshot" (same as snake shot in some parts of da country). I tell ya, it was all a shock and blur, rather stunning to say the least. I'm not even a bit charred by the experience at all! A recordings have been confiscated by some TV show called "World's Yummiest?"
