Verdict still out on capabilities and how much we can do with it. Purchased a voltmeter for future trips. We do like having it on the roof ( not worrying with it being stolen while not with camper ) and for charging while driving. The built in monitoring gage shows only in 3rds ...full, 2/3, 1/3, Empty. We feel the voltmeter will help inform us of exactly the charge of the battery and what critical level we need to remain above.
This is such new technology; Nucamp was waiting on instructions for themselves. After the rep "educates" them; hopefully we can become better informed. I think in addition; portable solar panel would be helpful for lots of dry camping. We dry camped in Glacier NP for a week on solar. I was able to make drip coffee with the electric plug. The refridge, freezer seems to use a lot of battery, and finally turned it off at Lake Louise and we kept a 2/3 to full battery then.
We had our two grand kids sleeping with us and didn't want to risk it being too cold at night with a dead battery. They were small 1 1/2 and 3 yrs old.

I have two 15# dogs who love the dirt and exploring under the bushes. While they do not shed, they do collect leaves and pine needles. I have one of those outdoor 6x8 RV mats. It allows us a place to knock off some of the dirt and debris. I keep a brush and an old towel in the storage next to the door if needed. I have a blanket that I tuck around the passenger side cushion (I am thinking of sewing elastic in the covers like a fitted sheet); that is where they sleep if not on the floor. I have a hand broom and dust pan if needed for the floor. At night I have rug I put down the center aisle, that way I am not tracking any dirt into bed with me.nolagringa said:One of my main concerns is how to keep the inside clean with her shedding and tracking. With my previous dogs, who did shed a lot, I had a lint roller for the furniture. Also had a hand vacuum with a roller bar with teeth to rake up the dog hair.

@BrianZ at least you were able to get some gorgeous pictures and get outside (or sneeze a bit)!! I've had to escort friends and relatives in the DC metro area many times as well as the Balt. Inner Harbor.
Oh! And then there is no way my baby sis and I can top taking Mom to the Gaylord hotel for her bday and Mother's day at National Harbor last year. The weather was amazing, the Ferris wheel spectacular at night and my "foodie" baby sis made all the right reservations for Mother's day brunch. There was a spa day for Mom too. I think baby sis and I have tapped ourselves out. LOL.

By developing / maturing the NuCamp factory's fiberglass experience level, maybe this will allow the crack-prone ABS plastic trim pieces on the rest of the product line to be replaced with fiberglass equivalents?

I saw the Barefoot camper when I was in Sugarcreek, so I was waiting for the announcement. Forgive the uber cropped cell phone shot.
These are nice little campers. I am guessing they will be just a little more than I want to pay for one, but if they come in around the same price as a T@b with the right specs, I am interested.

@Verna, I looked at Amazon - that is where we bought our King Camp. @Sboatcruise has one that has a door that unzips to create another awning and the sides roll up, too. I bet you could make this work for the 400. We use ours over our galley.

Yes, the factory coax connector should work fine with the Dish antennae. Unfortunately, I had a severe kink in my cable that was made during construction of the trailer. I had to run a new cable from the outside to the Wally receiver in the trailer.

V1.1 has been posted and it clarifies some ambiguities, corrects a misstatement about the Alde having 3 boost settings, spells nüCamp correctly with the two dots and adds one page describing the forestry saw, hatchet & wedge stored in the TV that may be needed when large branches fall after you've gone down a forest road.
