After returning from our third short trip with our new 2021 Tab 320s BD, my wife pulled out the Boondock step and a nut and washer fell on the ground.
I got under the step and found the nut-less bolt and tightened all the nuts on the step as well, as a few would have met the same fate. Not sure why the manufacturer didnt use nylock nuts on this application. Owners might want to check tightness on all step nuts.
While under the trailer, i also noticed the wiring to the electric brakes was almost touching the tire, on the passenger side.I was able to push the wire back into the grommet, but will tyewrap these wires so they dont get rubbed by the tire(s).
Congratulations! We also are blessed to be able to store our 320S in the third bay of our garage (with 8' doors). SubaruLou you are spot on... packing for a trip, tinkering, or just hanging out in the camper is so easy!
Thanks for the tips! Yeah, it's been frustrating trying to get the few that were snapped off out. I loathe self-tapping screws but I get why they used them.
In most locations, a large structure like this needs to be anchored to its support base. I have used Simpson Tie post brackets to bolt support posts to a concrete base. The bracket is casted into then concrete pier when it is poured into a hole in the ground. Then post bolts to the bracket once the concrete has set. cheers
The point is you don't have to accept a camper with missing parts. If enough purchasers reject this sub-standard crap, it will quickly move up the food chain and someone will find a way to get the screens. If not, they'll just keep playing the game.
