Re: Curling iron
Depends. If it’s 110v (household plug), you’ll need to know the wattage and have an inverter big enough to handle that wattage.
Cheaper option if you aren’t already set up with an inverter: buy a butane cartridge-fueled travel curling iron. Or a rechargeable one.

Re: Fan upgrade
What @Gherzig said...if you're going through the hassle of removing and installing a new fan, just shell out the money for a better fan since you probably will never upgrade it afterwards. I'm not a fan of those tall rain covers that go over existing fans. Aesthetically they ruin the profile of the trailer and add so much height that you do have to factor that in when going through low-clearance areas (trees, etc.).
I wish Nucamp would install Maxxair fans as OEM. The Fantastic fan is horrible...loud, fragile (our lock broke within a few months) and limited speeds. Once you install a Maxxair you'll wonder how you put up with the Fantastic fan.

Re: Exhaust soot from boiler
We’ve not had any soot build up in the almost 2.5 years of use with our Alde. We almost always use propane with ours too. I don’t think that is normal to see that type of soot build up on any model year and especially in a 2022. But that’s just my speculation since we’ve never had any build up at all. But we do always use the high elevation setting. I too am thinking that if there is that much build up on the exterior something on the interior may need to be cleaned up.
Re: Is an all electric TaB trailer viable
Yes, whilst we are getting closer, the all electric TaB is a bit off in the future, but still, an interesting idea. Meanwhile, my next goal with our TaB400, is to upgrade to lithium batteries, and at least a 2KW inverter, and eliminate the gas cooktop, and replace it with an Induction cook top, either countertop, or a drop in to replace the gas stove top. We use a microwave for rehearing prepared food we being along, and only use the gas stove to heat water for coffee or tea, and heat up soup, all,of which could be done with an induction type unit. This would eliminate the gas venting and heat from the propane cook top.
The Alde heater we have, is going to need the propane to get any real heating done, and at this time is more practical for heating. Perhaps a future Alde unit will be AC/DC and use battery power to replace the gas burner, when the technology catches up.

Re: Do you solo campers even use the stabilizers?
If overnighting while still hooked up, we'll usually put down just the rear stabilizers. The exception would be if we're not too sure about the location and feel we might need a quick escape.

Re: Has anybody got any info on 2023 T@B 400's ?
Personally think the bunk is a complete waste of space in a small trailer that many buyers will never have more than two people in. And the table is just too small - I really like the previous design a lot better.
I do like the new shelf cubbies along the dining room drivers side wall though...those will be very handy.

Re: Has anybody got any info on 2023 T@B 400's ?
I'd kill for that lithium battery option to power our AC. And the drawer under the bed would be really nice. Love the 2-way fridge. I think many will welcome that even at the loss of the wardrobe.
The bunk is a huge hangup for me though. I wouldn't feel comfortable having a child up there with that tiny railing and given how delicate the interior of the camper is, I'm sure flailing legs could kick some upper cubbies loose.
And the tiny dinette table is counter productive to adding more sleeping space. Now you can sleep 4 people but it looks like that table would barely hold a couple of plates.

Re: Do you solo campers even use the stabilizers?
Always when in camp, never when stored at home.
Re: My mods -1
Sounds like it should work out well for you. It's so enjoyable doing things to make the campers our own. Looks like you've been having fun!
Re: 2023 400 Pics!
@dsfdogs It’s such a cheap and easy thing for them to install during construction it’s a shame they discontinued it. But $100 is pretty cheap and it’s a pretty simple install overall.
